I just had the funniest thing happen...someone tried to talk me down in donation, saying that he saw someone who had 300 movies behind her belt that cost a little more than half my price.  I said, well, if THAT's how we decide things, Jenna Jameson should go down to about 200/hr, and I should lower my price to 100/hr.  Just curious to see if you guys think the "amount" of movies someone has done has anything to do with her hourly worth.  lol....

why not INCREASE the donation based on how FEW movies a girl's made, as in (reverse) "porn mileage" (or depreciation)?  in some sectors of the hobby, new fresh meat is prized above "worn-out" goods
ultimately it's (perceived) DEMAND, both personal and public, that fixes the price .... Jenna can ask exorbitant rates because of her (public) high-demand, but since i for one have no particular (private) demand for Jenna, i wouldn't bang her if it cost me $500/hr

Some people like to feel like they are getting a "deal" before they make a buying decision.  Just like you don't want to feel like you are "selling yourself short" the hobbyist doesn't want to think he is getting gouged.


Jennifer, whether you decide to negotiate or not it's the right thing to do as long as you feel ok with it. IMHO

Personally I don't ask to negotiate very often because if I want to see the provider, the money (for the most part) is not significant enough to discourage me from doing so.
