I'll get right to the point, Howard Stern,a low life, long haired, ugly , no talent asshole.  I don't care how much he is worth, or how much he get's paid, him and his cronies are losers, with absolutely no talent.

Talk about sophmoric humor, what he does MIGHT have been funny when I was in the 8th grade.  Of course, we all know how the majority of young males think, so he's probably on target.

 Stern's humor is to allow people to degrade themself,be it drunks,or mentally challenged people, where's the talent, anyone can make fun of people.

How ANY PS would allow that jerk to exploit,and degrade them is beyond me.  I know that there's a saying about publicity, but think about it, 99.9999999999% of his listeners, can't afford to spend 500.00 an hour, let alone pay for a PS.

As for me, I would think twice about seeing a PS if she allowed him to degrade her on his show, seems to be a tell tale sign of low self worth.

Actually, I happen to be a big fan of Howard's, and everyone here knows that I can afford a PSE, as I've definitely seen my share. In addition, even if the listeners can't afford or just choose not to see escorts, they are the ones who are buying porn videos and gadgets and going to strip clubs to see these girls dance. Let's not forget that what makes a PSE a pornstar is not her escorting, but her videos career.

I'd be interested to hear what others have to say. My bet is that many of the guys on here are fans of Howard Stern.

I don't know, I like Howard and have had the means to see more than 30+ porn stars including a few that have appeared on his show. To each his own.

That is one of the biggest mis-conceptions of his show, that all his listeners are skid-row bums with no education and/or money....Most of his audience are white-collar professionals....I like Howard alot, & I can afford to see porn stars to! - so I think your 99.9999999% analogy was (to use a Jim Rome phrase) - talking smack....

There are 2 things that I think make the Stern Show great...First, he really is a good interviewer, he asks TOUGH questions when someone sits w/him, it's NOT a Byron Allen kiss ass interview...Honestly, the only person who probably is a better interviewer is Mike Wallace...Second, Stern goofs on himself, which is a sign of someone who does NOT take himself so seriously...Yes, he has a big ego, but he will constantly poke fun at himself (ie: his looks, his small d***, etc.)..Too often today, people take themselves way too seriously & can never laugh at him/her self, Howard can do that...Sure, some of the humor is sophmoric, & I don't like everything they do - but I admire the hell out of someone who can laugh at himself..

IMO, the Ann Coulter's, Michael Savage's, etc. of this world are what's behind alot of the mean-spiritedness & overall nasty tone of talk radio/TV today...Sure, Howard isn't for everyone, but his show is a breath of fresh air compared to the hate filled diatribe from many of the hacks on talk radio....

Deep interviews ! Of course he's not there to actually do a real interview,it's for entertainment.  Yes entertainment, having people fart into a PS's face for money, throwing lunch meat on someone's ass, to see if it will stick.  I could go on and on, but I think whether or not a person likes Stern, we can all agree that the man actually, doesn't have talent.  As I said,ANYONE can degrade a willing person, with money being the deciding factor. I'm sure that there are a lot of fans of Stern here on this board,and those are your posters,not your lurkers.

Now on to your lurkers,you had a post about  reads vs.posters,and lurkers.  That thread is the typical example,while there are thousands of reads,posters and lurkers, the large amount  are more than likely, reads by businessmen who DO LURK, but would never post.  It's not that all of the discussions are beneath them,it's that they just don't have the time, or inclination to post.  They use this site for INFORMATION, not to play games.

Are less than qualified to evaluate Howard's humor and you have all your facts wrong. Why do you have a bug up your ass about Howard? Did he molest you as a child? If you really understood his humor, you would know that he degrades nobody. Everyone that appears on the show is there voluntarily, he's been on the air for over thirty years and it's not as if they don't know what the show is all about and oddly enough they still go on to promote themselves.  Most of Howard’s listeners are over twenty five and my mother at the age of 70 is a fan and subscriber, and that brings up the fact that these days you have to have the at least 12.95/month, low lifes always spend money on satellite radio.  And last who really cares about your opinion since you don't understand him anyway, it's like asking me about subtleties of calf’s liver, I hate the stuff, but I certainly would not post on a bulletin board how anyone that eats liver is, how did you put it, oh yeh "sophomoric".  As far as Ms Steele is concerned, it's just funny to see her put that bong up her ass and she understands the power of The Howard Stern Show as does Gov Patacki, numerous actors and actresses and sports figures, so Jen keep plugging away.  And Vector keep telling us about other things you hate that you don't understand.

In all fairness to Stern, years ago I did think his show was funny at times, I'm speaking of over 10 years ago.

And to add to that statement, I have never listened to his radio show,so possibly I've missed his best work. I've only seen the "highlights" on E.  You know, the BEST of his work, the drunk midget in a box on a public street, the farting etc. Brilliant, genuis !

Now, please do not put words in my mouth, does it help to validate your post, by suggesting I was being derogatory?  NO WHERE did I call his listeners low lifes, or low class, or low income.

Now, the flip side is this, who cares about your opinion ? Is it that the readers should care, because you say you understand Stern, love the logic.

I used to like Howard.  I listened to him all the time but I stopped a few years ago.  The guy is just coasting now.  Absolutely no originality.  He seemed to "jump the shark" after he divorced his wife.  I watched him on Letterman complaining about CBS and I wanted to puke.  He's got it so good but he can't stop complaining for a minute.  It seemed that Letterman was growing a little tired of his whining as well.

Sorry Vector7, some opinions are less humble than others, and yours (IMHO) are amongst the 'most' humble.

And please spare me any comments you might have that end with the word "logic", as I can hear Socrates and Descartes spinning in their respective graves.

One of the Stern highlights that you've missed by only occasionally watching his show on "E", is a rather spirited defense of the 1st Amendment. As you're probably unaware, these freedoms are under rather heavy attack by the FCC, and indeed Congress is on the verge of approving even stiffer fines ($325K per occurrence) for questionably 'obscene' displays like Janet Jackson's breast over public airwaves. Stern has been waging this war almost alone, hence his move to satellite radio as the FCC was set to put him out of business. Only now with their business models threatened have the large media companies taken the FCC to court.

In my view, this makes Stern something of a latter-day Lenny Bruce, raunch, warts and all. Somewhat more interesting to me than the Jay Lenos' of the world.

Howard is the most successful radio host of all time.  He has invented honest radio.  Look at all
the imitators now.  There are hundreds of them.
He is also one of the best interviewers of all time.
His show on sirius is better than ever.

You didn't call them low lifes, you called them young males, which only makes up a small portion on his audience, sorry about that.  If you are only judging from the E Show, they only put on the stuff that make people say "gee wiz" and that stuff is usually not his funniest material.  But you just seem real negative about Howard and the original post was about Jennifer Steele promoting herself and what's wrong with that, so I just didn't get the negativity, it just seemed you need to vent about Howard and this was the opportunity, right or wrong.

She was great how she spoke about our hobby, keep up the good work.  I loved when she talk about the guy with coke dick, very funny.

So when Sirius goes backrupt due to all the money they gave Howard, he will move over to 60 Minutes.  Actually, Howard's a poor imitation of Mort Sahl.  Ask Eddie who he is.

I got to give it to Howard , he is probably the greatest self promoter since PT Batnum. While he has people believing that he left Terrestrial radio because the FCC is out to get him the truth is simple M O N E Y! about 500 Mil. And the idea that he invented this type of Radio is another Howard Mantra thats not true. While Howard is  Talented he borowed a lot from other DJs over the years. I was a listener for 15 yrs , I bought " US OPEN SORES" Video and "Cruccified by the FCC" TAPES. But frankly I dont miss him, I agree he jump the Shark since his divorce. The Idea that hes a great interviewer, man that s ridiculas. You who asks the tough questions on his show , the PHONY callers. And then Howard apologizes , but then says"so what about the callers question".

There were a couple of reasons why I posted originally.  JS posted,and a couple of posters were giving her a hard time, in a round about way.

I voiced my opinion,of how I view a PS's self worth,if they are willing to let that jerk use them/degrade them, in exchange for money or advertising.

In expressing my feeling, it was neccessary to explain why I feel the way I do,it's really very simple to deduct why I unloaded on him.

I don't listen to his show, because based on his E show,I now think he is a loser.  I ALSO have a job/profession,that doesn't allow me to listen to the radio when I work.  Here's another opinion, people who can listen to a "shock jock" while working really,,never mind.

I also was conducting an experiment.  In 24 hours,there are 24 posts,yet on Sly's begging the board to post, there have been only 35 or so posts, in 3 days. Kind of sad when you can get more of a response about Stern, than you can about PS's, WHAT'S THAT TELL YOU ?
