Exotica-2000 actually operated under a number of different names including: New York Elites, Ce Soir, Night Flight Escorts and Camelot.  Exotica-2000 was the "porn star" arm of the business that, according to several news reports, was run by the Russian mob.  I don't know if that's true - one of the owners was indeed Russian but the other was Egyptian.

Anyway, from the news reports I heard, three of the escorts went to the police and turned them in - that's how the police started their investigation which eventually led to the arrest of the owners.  One of the rumors I heard was that Aspen Stevens was one of the three girls who went to the police.  Like I said, this was a rumor and I don't know how true it is.  I've heard from other people that she was not one of the three.  FWIW, the agency was busted in 2005, the news reports said that the police conducted an investigation that lasted 13 months, and Aspen left the agency in 2004. Whether or not her leaving was in any way related to the investigation is speculation.
