A sad day...

This was on Fast Eddie's Yahoo group, posted by Robbin Young...

My dearest friend and mentor, Fast Eddie, passed away today. I just got off the
phone with Eddie's boss and he said Eddie's roommate walked in and found him
passed out on the floor. I know he's been having black out spells and I assume
that's what happened. His boss said it looked as though Eddie fell, hit his
head, and died. The coroner was removing Eddie's body while I was on the phone
with his boss.

He has no family and I'm unsure what plans will be made for any type of funeral.
I'm sorry, but I'm too distraught to write any more.

Eddie was not a religious man, and we had many discussions regarding this,
because I am a Christian. I know in my heart that Eddie will always be with me,
as my Guardian Angel.

Please don't EVER forget Eddie and when I am over this tragic loss, I'll write
about some of our fun and memorable conversations.

God Bless and remember...THIS IS NOT A DRESS REHEARSAL, MAKE EVERY MOMENT COUNT!

Much Love,
Robbin

God speed and thank you for all you did with this board.  You were the one that brought porn stars and the "regular guy" together to have a good time. You allowed us to have fun without disrespecting anyone. You treated everyone fair, no matter if they were industry people or the common guy. I am glad you took the time to write your blog about your many adventures with porn stars. You lived a fascinating and exciting hobby life and no one will ever be able to fill your shoes around here.

God Speed Fast Eddie
Rest in Peace My Friend,

Eddie had a boyish charisma about him that you just had to love.  He cared about all the people here and in the industry and I personally owe him a huge debt of gratitude for the guidance he gave me throughout the years.

Eddie and Sly made sure I navigated the choppy waters of this hobby safely when I was a newbie.  He didn't have to take his time to mentor me, he just did.  That was Ed.

Thanks and rest comfortably, old friend.

Add my condolences to the ever-growing list of saddened members of TER.  I never failed to read his posts, or replies, because of his status, knowledge, experience.  I share the same sentiments that others have mentioned here, that Eddie was a hero to the 'regular guy' in this hobby.

If I live the rest of my life to just a fraction of how Eddie lived his. I am going to be a happy man.

I wish I had met him face to face, as opposed to thru e-mails.  He was definitely someone worth knowing.

Peace to all of his friends and loved ones, but most of all to Eddie himself.  He will be missed.

Eddie, besides being a trusted friend and confidante, was like an uncle figure to me over the years. I'll always appreciate his classy advice. I wish I had had the opportunity to see him one last time. We just spoke on the phone a few months ago and I admired his spirit. He had fallen on some unfortunate circumstances but told me, "Hey, whatever doesn't kill ya makes ya stronger, right?"

Just one of the many life lessons I learned from him. RIP my friend.

We know that not everyone makes it to AVN, so it's a tasteful tribute. The responsibility to keep this tribute in mind rests within the community.

Those of us who will be able to make it to next year's AVN should make the pilgrimage to the Circle Bar at Venetian opening night and toast Ed at the stroke of midnight. This was Ed's favorite place to hold court, meeting with providers and hobbyist alike at this location. Yes, I think this is a fine idea.

God willing, if I'm able to make it out to the AVN, I'll raise my glass, and toast to his name.

but he had also become one of the biggest and most thought-provoking contributors on the P&R board.  Those of us who exchanged notes, ideas and philosophies with him -- regardless which side of the political fence we were on -- were privileged to have the opportunity to see just how smart, articulate, insightful and passionate Eddie was about politics, history and our country in general.

TER and all of us have lost a good friend -- one of those friends that many of us have only "met" via electronic exchanges of ideas, tips and greetings.

It's taken me a while to think what to see beyond Rest In Peace.
In my family, it's always been the custom to tell stories about the departed to celebrate their life.  So:

I remember meeting Eddie a number of years ago at an adult convention.  I knew who he was since I had seen his pictures but he didn't know who I was.  We were both vying for the attention of a well-known Playboy Centerfold by telling jokes.  We alternated, and the jokes got worse and worse...  We both struck out but we had a good time telling jokes and laughing.  I think she did too.

Eddie and I didn't always get along and we had some fights in email, but that's how I choose to remember Eddie - as a man full of life and humor, with excellent taste in women.

all of Eddies friends and family or friends .

Though I had never met him I read his
story about losing his home to a fire.
I relate to that as it happened to me
when I was raising a child by myself
and it is times like that you know who
your real friends are.

It's never something to shrug off
on a board when hearing about someone losing
a life. There have been so  many who
have passed away, and several whom I have come
to know. I am sorry I never got to
know this wonderful person though he
was well adored on this board which says
alot for living a upbeat life surrounded
by those who truly care from the heart.

So here is my bid to farewell Eddie
may you rest in peace and may your
friends carry on living in your spirit
keeping you in memory , making decesions
in some situations based in part
of " how Eddie" would have handled those
situations.

Eddie was always there with a keen insight, a helpful suggestion and most of all a huge heart.

He helped me more times than I can count.

God bless ya Ed, you'll be missed my friend.

I've been a member for years but never post. However, Eddie has been very helpful to me over the years and I had to acknowledge his passing.

While in many ways it is a sad day, I will choose instead to rejoice in the fact that Eddie was a man who pursued and lived many of his dreams.

A lesson we should all learn...

There are no words.  Such a gentleman and such a generous soul.  We have all enjoyed his kindness and benefitted from his experience.

I never met him, not even sure if we ever exchanged PMs, but by his many posts, I felt I knew him and could tell he was a good guy.  RIP.

I can't imagine this board without "FastEddie" being involved and offering his astute advice.  Since I've been a contributor to this board, Eddie has always been there.  His memory will always be with me.

I've never ever posted on this particular TER board before, but as a huge fan of the industry and a friend of some of the ladies in the biz - as well as a horny dude - I've lurked often. One thing that always stuck with me was the information and wisdom that Eddie seemed to be willing to share with anyone, anytime. Clearly he had established relationships in the industry and had experiences many of us would do anything to have, but he never placed himself above anyone, talked down to anyone or made anyone feel silly or stupid. And he always seemed so upbeat. The one thing I can remember from his posts was that I always said to myself, "What a great guy. I'd love to meet him for a beer sometime."

One thing I think of a lot is how will people react when I'm gone. Who will show up at my funeral, what will they say, how will I be remembered. I know that Eddie doesn't have any next of kin that we know of, but just look at the outpouring of love that has been shown on this board alone for him. Wow. Leaves you speechless. I hope that Eddie somehow is able to know the impact he has had on many people's lives, how much he is missed and how he was appreciated. I've never communicated with him at all, but somehow now wish I had the opportunity to tell him that before he passed.

Sorry I missed you Eddie, but thanks for being there for me and so many others whose lives you touched. RIP.

Eddie, didn't know you, but read your posts and found them entertaining and useful.  In a way, you were the life blood of this board.  I thought if you could bag the hotties, then lol, I still had a chance.  You seemed like a good person with a great heart.  Sounds like you went quickly?  Sometimes that is a blessing.  be well,

I never had the opportunity to meet Eddie in person, only through PM's here.
I must say that in the few messages we traded here that he was to me always kind, nonjudgmental and very informative.
Since I was a total stranger to Eddie he always made me feel like he was my friend and impressed me with how much he truly cared about his passion.
I like many, if not everyone here will miss his infinite wisdom and respect for the Hobby.
Eddie, I would like to thank you for all you have done for us all and wish you much grace and happiness forever and ever!

Wow, I'm shocked to see this.  I've been away from the PSE hobby for a couple years but will always remember the guidance and sage advice he would always provide on the boards.  I wasn't someone who interacted with him directly that I can recall, but as a newbie I learned a lot about how to navigate through this hobby reading his posts.  He truly helped out and mentored more people in this hobby than he knew.  Thank you Eddie for everything and rest in peace.
