Helmut Newton was the Ansel Adams of erotica.  His black and white images transcended porn and became art.

Wouldn't it have been interesting if he had done some hard-core photography in the style only he could achieve?

I am in this book several times , including the photo from the Video June shot..I have a signed copy of that photo, as well hanging in my office..he shot me a total of 6 times, June had her video camera going for 3 of those times , and believe me, at NO TIME did I realize just how lucky a "BIG NUDE" I was, and the stack of photos he gave me,just a real treat to look at..
here is another...with "RED"...and his death..tragic...to say the least...they were my friends...x

I've always considered Helmut Newton the premier still photographer of women and Andrew Blake the premier film photographer of women.
While I still enjoy Blake's work as an erotic turn-on, a number of years ago, I started to appreciate the care he takes with composition, lighting, editing, etc. He is, as he says, an erotic film-maker, as opposed to a pornographer.

I LOVED Andrew Blake's early stuff... Night Trips, Hidden Obsessions.  I just wish he'd get back to his boy/girl roots and spend less time on girl/girl and fetish stuff.

He had called me to work on a film...not really knowing his style,I requested an interview...when i walked into his office he introduced himself , handed me a script,and started to go into the syle in which the film was to be done...TO MY SUPRISE>>>>
he had a Helmut Book in hand, I waited a moment, then flipped to the photos of myself inside...He nearly fell off his chair....we got along great, amazing man...the film..Sensual Exposure (1993)...
