Poor Asia Carrera
She lost her husband in a car crash. She's got one baby and another due in a month. I was always happy to see her leave adult film and seem to do so well post-porn, but this is awful.
She did not deserve this. No one does.
This is very sad news for Asia Carrera and her family. She is asking for donations up to $100 to be sent through her website which I have linked to below. Over $100 can be sent through PayPal to [email protected]. I pray that nobody would abuse her email address at a time like this. I can guarantee you that this pregnant widow is NOT providing! I encourage all of you who have spent money on PSE's to maybe take a raincheck on your next one and donate that money to Asia Carrera. I am going to send her $1,000 now.

How about for the next month, Bella Models donates $500 from every booked appointment, and convinces her pses to do the same. Its the least they could do for a fellow pornstar in her time of need.
So far we seem to be the only ones who have donated money to her!
I bet you'd give her $500 if it came with a BBBJ! And you probably wouldn't even mind her protruding belly and tear stained face. Nobody has to donate anything but since this is the Porn Stars Discussion Board I think the information for donations is as appropriate here as it is on Luke Ford's website (where I originally found it). You don't have to be a JERK!
I simply made a legitimate suggestion. I wasn't nasty about it and I didn't call you names. But you seem to have a low opinion of most members of this board. Jerk, Genius, Dumbass - you have a habit of calling hobbyists names.
I feel sorry for Asia. I don't know her, so I don't know if she is a nice person or not. But the fact is that she made a lot of money doing porn and as a member of Mensa, she should have invested wisely. Nothing against her, but she probably still makes more money than 98% of the guys here.
You say that apparantely your the only one who has donated money to her. That is nice, but of course nobody knows if that is really true or not. But if it is the adult industry should be ashamed of itself. Where are the production compnaies who have made millions off of her? Where are her pornstar friends? They are the ones who should be helping her now, not a bunch of guys who've never met her.

I agree with what you said about her website and her having made a decent amount of money from her career. A person has to make sure they take care of their family and themselves first and foremost. I don't feel you said anything wrong at all, you just made a suggestion.
You didn't have to say anything more, your comment was clearly a wiseass one. It wasn't my husband that died (thank God) so I could care less if you don't donate your money to her. I was just trying to help this unfortunate mother of two children. Regardless of what she should have done to prepare she obviously didn't and it's too late now to point fingers. Honestly, you act like she's asking for donations for Al Qaeda!
It was not a wise ass comment, it is the truth. The world does not meet anyone halfway.
It is somewhat commonplace to see charitable fund raising efforts employ special catches to encourage donations. E.g. Donate blood today and receive $10 certficate for a local restuarant. I'm not sure of the real intention of Truth's post. Perhaps it was mean spirited as Bellamodels seems to suggest or perhaps it was well intentioned. Regardless, embedded in the post is an idea that perhaps can be tweaked to help Asia. What if both PSE providers and their agencies each agreed to lower their fees to match a client's donation to Asia? Or something along these lines? As indicated it is a common fund raising practice of sorts and perhaps it could facilitate Asia's need for assistance.
For every donation to Asia Carrera I will give a credit towards one of our PSE's up to $100!

Putting the rest of this thread aside, I think it is great of you to make such a generous donation to Asia in her time of need. Thanks also for the donation information.
This is an interesting discussion in that aboit 5 years ago, I wrote to her and suggested that she consider a business relationship to form an agnecy to provide legal, financial and accounting advice to pornstars. I had done some work for Lisa Lipps and April Hunter ( still do) and thought that someone with Asia's name recognition and intelligence could be an asset both in fronting the business and in doing some of the owrk ( second career). I st the proposition out in a long letter and made a donation to her site of several hundred dollars as a good fath showing. I offered to set up the business, rent space at CES/AVN and told her to check with April Hunter and Lisa about me. She cashed the check and I heard no more from her.
I don't say that to be mean and I am donating money to her now. The message everyone should glean from this tragedy is that tomorrow's are not promised and you need to take steps to care for your future, particulalrly when you have a family. A little planning would have averted the financial hit here. I am still willing to take a shot at this type of set up, if one or more of the ladies are interested. Feel free to respond to me privately if there is some interest.
I agree this is very sad, but when people are making large amounts of cash from providing or films, it is up to them to prepare for contingencies. I think those that can help should do so if they want to, but first and foremost people should plan for emergencies if they are able to...just my 2 cents

Exactly!! A man should always make sure his family is provided for if anything happens to him. There is no excuse for not taking out a policy that would help your wife and kids.
A family SHOULD have an insurance policy. No excuses.
