Recently I contacted an agency that posts frequently on TER. I am curious if what happened to me has occurred with others, and what other agencies have done & would do in a similar situation. For several days we emailed each other about setting up a visit with a lady they list, the checking out process was fine but for the date & time I requested, I was told there was a problem with the time. I was given a choice of an earlier & later times to choose from. We traded a few more emails about where we meet & when I would get the phone #. Since I felt everything was set I made my travel reservations. A few days later I received an email that read “date now doesn't work”, no explanation on what had happened. As u all know, most reservations are nonrefundable & expensive to change. I emailed for an explanation & was told the lady was called away. How would u fell about this?
I empathize with you, as it is very disappointing to have this kind of expectation not met. If it is costly to change the flight ticket, I would encourage you to find an alternative provider, either with the same agency or with a different one. Luckily for you LA is not short of alternatives.
My first thought is that there's no way in hell I would make plans to travel to another city to see a provider unless it's someone I had a history with and was dealing with directly. Second, this is why I don't like prebooking since I hear a great deal of stories like this and have had at least two occasions myself in the last 6 months where prearranged deals got cancelled by the girl.
Most of the time, I set something up, at most, the day before. Of course, this does narrow the available demographic but it seems to work for me. Second, with the exception of Kelly Well's, I avoid agencies like the plague. Don't like the additional cost, don't like the additional rules and the pressure that is put on the girls to be much more mindful of the time.
Bottom line here for me is to remember that it's a buyer's market here, especially if you live in a big market city! Go independent, talk to the girl directly and get a much better feel for their reliability. Still doesn't guarantee anything since, let's face it, there more than a few flakes in this business but it might help reduce that risk of the type of experience you've described!
Yes this tends to happen all too often. The worst case for me was when I traveled to LA, got a hotel room and then everyone went radio silent on me. Sat there in the hotel room trying to figure out what was going on until I finally gave up at 11PM and went to dinner. Got a call the next day as I was heading to the airport letting me know she was available tonight if I wanted to meet. Ridiculous.
Thats what I find it amusing when I am asked for deposits. Never going to happen. I am in the process of planning a trip to vegas and was told that I need to send a deposit to see a particular lady. Laughed it off and made plans with someone else.
In this activity, there is no customer service department that you can file a claim against. Always hedge your bets and never give deposits. I have enough direct contacts now that if on a trip to LA, someone starts to flake, I make alternative plans. Thats the best that you can do.
All you need to do is look at the top of this screen: "Total Reviews: 851,057!" That's just here and I know this may be sacrilege, but TER isn't the entirety of the "hobbying" universe! Now, I have had my infatuations with certain girls, just like the next guy but I also know that there are literally HUNDREDS of similarly qualified young ladies in Southern California who are more than happy to rock my world and do it in the time and manner of my choosing! And that's not to be disrespectful to anyone, I actually go out of my way to be a gentleman! It's just that I've found that spur of the moment, let's plan for later today has worked remarkably well for me! Indeed, the only times I've had any problems is when I've tried to set things up further ahead of time!
Once it was a wash, as I had a business trip and just put me in the area, but the other was a personal travel thing that cost me several hundred dollars.
