In 2026, what makes a woman a Port Star?
Just about everyone's phone contains a high quality video camera with copious amounts of memory. Decent video editing software is available for free or low cost, with YouTube videos available to show you how to use it.
Anyone can set up a profile on Porn Hub and upload videos. Anyone can set up a Only Fans (or similar internet service) and solicit paid subscriptions. Videos can be uploaded and then offered for sale (for downloading) on sites like Clips 4 Sale and Many Vids.
In other words, just about any women with a little bit of initiative and a relatively small amount of resources (camera, computer, internet connection) can be a "professional" (that is, earn money from it) porn performer. (Although success at it is never guaranteed.)
In the old days, a woman needed an agent to deal with production companies (i.e., Vivid), producers, and directors. Videos had to have marketing and distribution. But those things have gone the way of the typewriter and pay phone.
So I was wonder and what point does a guy decide to pay the premium fee that a "Porn Star" charges for in-person services and check the Porn Star box on the review form?
For me personally, I never specifically seek out Porn Stars. I have experience certain porn performers in the past, but it was always something of a coincidence, and most times I didn't even know they did porn until they told me during the session. Lately I've back on some of the porn sites and found their old videos (some over 20 years old!), watched them, and thought "I knew her when." One woman I experienced was even featured on the TV show "Botched" for a breast implant that burst and needed to removed. (The introductory consultation is on YouTube, but the entire episode behind a pay wall of a streaming service.) Her TER profile has been removed so you can no longer read any of her reviews.
Recently I've seen some girls that have subscription sites and sell videos on Clips 4 Sale, but I don't consider them any kind of "Porn Star."
