I recieved an email from a adult model mangement company in the San Fernando CA saying something like I am what they are looking for , they asked if I am interested and send additional picture and phone number . The email seems legitim and the webpage and facebook page too. It is that common for providers to recieve this kind of emails? Actually I am really really interested but I am not sure if I will reply that email , where or how can I do casting for that?? I am not American , I am here with a student visa , it's that a problem if I would like to do porn? I am 23 years old , its too late to begin?
I find this a bit amusing, because advising a new girl to hook up with LA Direct is the last advice I would give to someone looking to get into the industry.
Here's the bottom line. You DO NOT need a talent agent/agency to work in the adult business.
I have been with LA Direct since my first trip to Los Angeles. They have been great in my own personal experience. If you are serious about getting into adult, I would at least contact them so they can give you an honest assessment of the work they can get you. You will get work the first few weeks if you are new regardless of who you go with, but a good agent will keep finding you work when you are no longer "fresh off the bus".
There are alot of smaller agencies/management companies in Porn Valley. Some are great others are shady so definitely do your homework. The last thing you want to do is having a "manager" who is taking a big percentage of your rate for doing nothing. Typical agency fee is 10-15%. I have heard of girls paying ALOT more because they did not know any better.
