You need to contact ladies you'd like to see well in advance.
Keep in mind that this is the busiest week of the year for us.
Attending the expo during the day, attending events in the evenings,  squeezing I'm porn shoots where possible (yes a lot of shoots happen during avn as everyone  is in town together and we all get tested before AVN) and networking like crazy to get connections which will make or break our entire year ahead.. there's not much time for anything else.
On top of that, for porn stars who do openly provide, hobbyist's start contacting  us as early as feb/March for booking the NEXT year.. (I'm not joking)

If you can't get an appointment with the star of your choice please don't be offended... this is a busy business week for us ...it may look like fun and games in the media and from the outside looking in... but in an industry that's hurting so badly right now... it's very serious business for those who make their livelyhood this way  

You maybe could try and find someone UTR (ask other guys here who specialize at that) as there's more chance what little "private" time she has is already booked  
Or settle for one (or more!) Of the plethora of providers who come in to vegas during avn just to take advantage of the number of appointments requested by gentlemen who left it too late to get a date with a porn star.

Unless you have already corresponded with a lady prior to attending the convention, i would refrain from bringing up the subject at the booth. For example: i had already talked to Ava Devine's booker before the show. So when i saw her at the booth and spoke to her about getting together she was cool. Unforetunately she was completely booked.
