An unfair trap

Porn is perfectly legal, so why should a public employee be discriminated against for it?

Or for that matter, any employee?

First, it creates an unnecessary distraction to the mission of our public schools which is to teach our children (and believe me, there are already too many distractions to that mission).

Second, porn is more or less sex for money.  Even through it is legal, it is for the most part considered immoral.  Part of what the public schools are doing is trying to teach children some sense of morality - whether you agree with it or not, that is what they are trying to do.

There are a lot of things that are perfectly legal that would probably cause someone problems getting a job as a public school teacher.

Take someone with a bunch of face piercings - perfectly legal, but probably not going to be able to land a job as a teacher.

It's not accurate to say "porn is perfectly legal."  See the Supreme Court case Miller v. California (1973) which found obscene material doesn't have First Amendment protection.

Don't forget that we live in a religious country or some claim we do!
I agree with you!

moral turpitude, conduct unbecoming a teachers, etc.  An administrator unhappy with a teacher usually drums up some chump charges to dismiss the teacher on a technicality.  In the end the two parties usually settle on a mutually agreeable dissolution of the contract.  The district gets rid of the teacher and the teacher gets to move on to another job.

even if they view porn themselves, would prefer their sons and daughters not be taught by a known pornographer.  My guess is that the percentage is high enough, and will be so for the near future, that you're living in a dream world (they don't call it "La La Land " for nothing) if you think this will be acceptable.

Hypocrisy permeates the land. In politics, clergy, and civil life. Take look around!

So, what you're saying is most people are hypocrites by definition.

Of course we are, You, me all of us are hypocrites.

As I posted a while back 99% of porn is shot illegally. Reason being is because you need to have a permit and most companies will not use pay for  a permit because it is not cost effective.

As for former ladies in porn becoming teachers. Well if I was a 14-18 yr old student I would look at her as a sex object and not look at her as a teacher.

I respectfully disagree with your characterization of the illegality of porn.  When someone can shoot a porn movie with an iPhone in his/her bedroom, the issue of permits is increasingly beside the point.

ANY material that depicts "sexual conduct or excretory functions;" that lacks serious "literary, artistic, political, or scientific value;" and that the "average person, applying contemporary community standards" would find the work "appeals to the prurient interest" is illegal.  The fact that attorneys general don't prosecute it is simply because they lack the time and resources--and the desire to get wrapped up in sticky First Amendment and internet issues--but that doesn't make it legal.

Below is what will happen if a neighbor is suspicious about you shooting porn. This has also happen to a friend of mine who is in porn as well.

Though as far as porn is concerned, not too bad, other than the Gestapos @AHF waging their condom wars on the industry and the militant anti porn group MIM (Morality in Media), who has non stop complained about porn since the early 1990's...

But look on the news whether print or TV, and you'll see countless stories about abortion, defunding Planned Parenthood, gay marriage, and now, contraception?!....

The culture wars have returned in full force...

At an even more basic level - its legal for teachers to drink - just not at school. or while you are supposed to be teaching.  If you were a coach and took a team on a road trip - probably shouldn't be seen in a bar while the kids are under your "care".
