Plus I wanted to say hi and I hope all of you are doing well!!
Have a great day!!!

Even if it did pass companies will still do non condom scenes because that is what most of the public wants to see..
What the industry needs to do to cut down on STD's is to make the talent get tested every two weeks instead of once a month..Too much can happen in a month and you are dealing with a lot of sex addicts and drug users in this business..
I know if I am doing bareback with a lady I require a one week test from them..Sometimes even a two day test!

I think your right that they need to regulate it more and test more often. Also, condoms don't protect from all VD. I think that when a performer tests positive for VD that they should not work until they have taken all their medication and get retested.
Also, AIM should have a list that a the companies and other performers can look at online to make sure none of the performers on set have anything. And if they are caught working while still taking medications and before they are cleared by AIM then they should be fined. And each time it happens fine them more.
Before I book a scene with a lady I always go to the website and look at her past test..Usually I go back 6 months..If I see too many positives than I will pass..
I agree with you about performers being fined if they try and work while on medication..

If California requires the industry to use condoms, I predict one of three things will happen:
1. Many companies will go out of business. It's a known fact that videos where the actors use condoms sell poorly compared to videos where they don't.
2. It will drive the industry back underground the way it was before the 1960s.
3. Companies will move their productions out of California to some other state where there aren't similar regulations. I vote for NJ.
All three could occur to some degree - some companies will go out of business, some will move, and some will go underground.
Of course, this could be EXACTLY what the state of California wants - destroy the porn industry as much as possible.

....no touching, no kissing and a full body condom for both participants. Bed belts so you don't fall out and hurt yourself....and an in-room moderator to make sure you don't waver from the posted rules.
Jesus H tap-dancing Christ doesn't CA. have FAR greater problems to worry about...Perhaps some CA. lawmakers should pick up a NYT, LAT, or a USA Today & see the tremendous issues facing their residents (as well as the rest of the country)....I highly doubt condom enforcement in the adult entertainment industry is going to be at the top of any of their (residents) lists..
IMO, the industry has done a very good job w/AIM testing since its inception in 1998 (or thereabouts)...
This article doesn't change my position on anything, whether is related to movies or privates....
I'd rather watch season 12 episodes of Hawaii Five-O (season 12 was absolutely horrible)than see a movie with a condom or have a private w/a condom....
Sorry for the rant but i have strong opinions on certain subjects....
What is wrong with this people.
Companies will go register their business some where else and state, they have to be sued in the state they are incorporated. They will shoot the movies as is in CA but, CA will not get to collect taxes.
Idiots.
Maybe technically it might not be our bedroom, mayb a studio or a kitchen or a gym or a...,
But keep them the hell out!
this is typical of california, heads up there ass, with all our financial problems, and a idiot for governor, there trying to do this, how about the homeless, the physical abuse of children and women
pedophiles should be killed immediately, as well as any child molester should be put to death. but all we worry about is some nice people having some sex and selling it and people smoking something that comes from the ground, im sorry for ranting but im sick of the beureacuracy, anon you said it best inc in another state. good topic bridge.
IMHO, I believe the integrity of safer performances falls on the porn stars themselves. I wouldn't mind seeing more strict mandatory testing guidelines.
A standard in which active porn stars doing protected scenes should be required or at least volunteer to get tested every 14 days minimum by advanced methods such as www.aim-med.org standard offers, or even better if and when available.
Performers active in unprotected/bareback hardcore scenes should get tested every 7 days minimum.

Here is the bigger problem as I see if from the outside. Who is to know if a performer actually contracted an STD within the industry, or do to carelessness in their personal life?
I have talked to several people I know in the industry about this, and one thing thats been commented on is why the industry doesnt require a FULL panel test every 30 days. One that includes the adult panel of HIN, Gon, Syph, but also Hep A,B,C, and Herp 1,2,3.
Gon and Syph if I recall correctly can be cured with antibiotics, but HIV, Hep, and Herp are with you for the rest of your life, so why would you NOT want to test for them?
Maybe the idea of an Adult Panel every 2 weeks and a Full panel every 30 days would be better.
Some say that there is a HUGE number of people in the industry who have Herpes, but there are those who dont. Should they be privy to the info if someone they are to work with DOES have it? And should they have the option to NOT work with that person? Of course they should.
I have shot scenes in the industry, and myself and the ladies shared our FULL panel results, and we were all even MORE comfortable shooting the scene knowing we had a clean bill of health...btw, all tests were less then 5 days old in my case.
Now granted, it will cost the performers about 600-650 a month for the tests every 14 and 30 days, but like ALL business's, there is a cost to do business, but its for the safety of ALL parties involved.
These are just my thoughts of course.
Cheers
They have a vaccine for HEP B...I got that vaccine about 6 years ago...It was not covered under insurance, cost was about $225..It was a series of 3 shots over a period of 6 months or so...Any sexually active person should get that vaccine..
I get the standard (HIV, gonorrhea, chylmadia) panel in LA...I have a 8-12 week gap between appts. so my tests are very current..Also, I have never done anal (don't plan to either) only vaginal BB...
Not trying to wind anyone up, but I think this could be a good thing.
If it saves just one person, it is done with the right intent. I didn’t stop watching Vivid when they went condom only and I heard someplace that gay porn is condom only, and that industry has grown by 10%-15% each year, and is still located in CA.
Porn is watched by a great number of people, some younger then they should be, if they see people fucking with condoms, maybe they will engage in safe sex, sort of a monkey see monkey do approach.
I do prefer bareback, and agree about stepping up testing, just wish we didn’t have too.
Great to hear from you Bridgette. It has been way too long since we have seen each other. Are you coming back to San Francisco anytime soon?
