Moore does what he does because he loves his country and can't stand to see bad people taking advantage of the priveliges afforded.

Michael Moore is an American Hero in the same vane as Woodward & Bernstein, shining a light for all to see the less than ethical behavior of our leader, the ones we trust with our lives and country. Hail the (real) four estate and Hail Michael Moore.

since you clearly do not understand it's meaning.  The right to dissent is the most fundamental principle of our democracy, and squelching that right is the 1st step on the path to tyranny.

I will stand up for Moore's right to express himself, but this rich fat ass, spoiled little rich fuck has anything but love for this country!  As a case in point, look up some of his comments to the foriegn press.

Exiling a guy because he makes a movie you don't like. Have conservatives forgotten why we had the Cold War in the first place?

I would think you're joking, but if so, it's too bad a joke.

In Fahrenheit 911, there was a really embarassing moment when Katie Couric is shouting "Navy Seals Rock!" I wondered why she just didn't get it over with and throw her panties at them.

One of Moore's major points is that the 4th Estate has been missing in action for much of the last few years, especially when it comes to examining the why's and wherefore's of the Iraqi War. His basic argument is that, if the press had been properly doing their job, there may well have been no need for his documentary.

I wasn't aware cancer cells had mindsets.  No wonder he's anonymous.

And what's Moore changing for the sake of change anyway?

To stay the same because you've always been that way is kneejerk.

All the network and news organizations are either asshole buddies of the Bush Family or they are scared of Bush Admin. turning the FCC on them and preventing them from doing business.  Michael Moore said in his Entertainment Weekly, that the only reason that he got the footage with the Marine recruiters, that show them trying to recruit lower income men with little economic future from Flint, MI, and the tactics they use was because the regular press has been in such goose step with the Bush Admin. that it never occurred to them that it would be used in a negative way. The clip with Bush making that comment before he tees off only existed because the Admin. is so confident that White House press corp would never embarrass the President so he can be as stupid as he wants to be.  Scary stuff that we don't have a independent press anymore.

To give you an idea of just how biased the media reporting is, below is a recent CBS News report (cited in the blog dkos):

"...When Andrea and Dennis Cariello got married last year, they thought their taxes would go up, and were dreading writing out that check on April 15. But instead, they got back $4,000.
"It was just a tremendously wonderful surprise that we weren't being hit at the same rate I'd expected, and we weren't being hit with the marriage penalty," says Dennis Cariello.

The Cariellos are putting the money right back into the economy, and that means fixing up their house.

They've got just one request. "I'd tell the President to keep doing what he's doing and hopefully drop taxes down even further," says Dennis Cariello.

So who is Dennis Cariello? A swing voter? Independent? Nope.
He is the president of the New York Young Republicans Club.

Now you're probably thinking that CBS News properly identified Cariello as a prominent Republican leader. Nope. They treated the Cariellos as the typical "couple" in the street.

This is the sort of thing that would have Edward R. Murrow spinning in his grave.
