Hostess may be bought by Bimbo, a Mexican-owned company.  They already own Sara Lee, Entenmann's and Thomas' English Muffins.

Bimbo has an advantage because of the availability of cheap sugar since Mexico doesn't impose the tariffs on sugar that the US does.

It could be the banksters, it could be the unions and it could be the price of sugar.  There are 37 ingredients in a Twinkie; there could be just as many reasons for the bankruptcy of Hostess.

I have noticed that sugar is 4lbs instead of 5lb bag now.  And I pay more for Mexican coke that is made with real sugar.
