OK, I don't disagree with everything he says, only most of it. My first problem with Ringer is he pulls a Bait and Switch, warning that the failure of socialism was the first step in a nefarious plot to impose Marxism. But he never mentions Marxism again, leaving the reader to wonder how that plot is supposed to happen. Yes, lots of people thought Roosevelt was a socialist and some of the budget-creep he refers to really does happen. But try to tell a Tea Partier that those "socialistic" Social Security benefits need to be trimmed and you'll hear amusing phrases like: "Get Big Government's cotton-pickin' hands off my Social Security." (I actually saw a poster saying just that at a Tea Party rally). Nearly everyone in this country recognizes we have a huge budget problem. The differences come over how to solve it. And who's going to impose Marxism on us? Obama? Give me a break. He's more of a middle-of-the-road compromiser who used up most of his political capital getting health care passed. Now he's running back to the middle to let the Republicans have their budget train wreck followed by their 2012 nominating plane crash. As for Marxism, what a joke to think anyone in this country would impose it, let alone stand for it. Marxism has been exposed for the fraud that it is. No one is buying it.
would comment on this and what their thinking processes were. I thought it was interesting enough to warrant being on this board, since so many here DO have quite strong political opinions.
I don't know if I support it or not. I don't understand enough yet of the entire article to say one way or other; I only understand about half of it. So, until I do know enough to make a rational decision of support or rebuttal, I don't know how to answer your question.
I admit disappointment in most of those who have posted, however. I wanted rational opinion, not name-calling or labeling.
sell newsletter subscriptions, self-help books, and troll the motivational speaker circuit. He reminds me of the old wild west and the guy selling the magic potion to cure all ills. If you are thinking about spending $129, don't. In fact, don't buy any of these online type newsletters. Don't buy any self help book. And 99% of motivational speakers basically use the same script. Hell, I think Tony Robbins is a scam.
