I think you're talking about Hassidic Jews. They are the most extreme in their beliefs. Personally, like all religious extremists, I think they're nuts.

Growing up in Virginia as far as I knew I never saw any. I once took a trip to Baltimore when I was a teen and saw a Hassidic Jew in a convenience store and almost asked him if it was Halloween. It was kind of a culture shock.  

That's why I ignore most of their posts.
