Hmmm, so Bush wants Alberto Gonzales to replace Ashcroft?

Gee, Bush's top pics for his circle to me "looks like America".

Funny how Clinton promised this & with very little success.  There were of course a few - and those few for the most part either didn't last long or were lower rung appointments than what he had prommised.  Clinton's kitchen cabinet looked like any white bread board room to me.

It must be infufiateing for the intelectual elete to get shown up by some idiot cowboy like Bush.  ;-)

Oh, and I don't want to hear any hollow whiny Uncle Tom comments about Condelezza or Powel.  (which I know most on the left can't avoid since the left is too stupid to make a rational argument without resorting to name calling, derrogatory comments of just plain curse words.)

If you must disagree, let's try to be intelegent about it huh?

Taws, in the past two weeks or so, I have responded to a few of your posts, to which you have had no comment.  I find it amazing coming from you that you ask for an intelligent response, when you are the one that is most likely to launch a personal attack.  

If I felt for a second that you could have an intelligent conversation, then I would respond.  However, whatever my response would be, I would either be ignored, called a moron, loser or something to that effect.

And by the way, your horrible spelling is very distracting.  I count 8 spelling/grammatical errors in your short post, including the word "intelligent".

Have you checked your security settings in the tools/options menu? If your browser is set to disable cookies it can create problems with some web-sites.

One other simple solution would be a 7 lb. sledge hammer.

As a person that enjoys posts that don't try to describe how I think and feel (incorrectly) and then shoot it down, I think you come across like a real knucklehead.

The book is authored by Thomas Sowell, it title is "Affirmative Action Around the World".

Although I want a world without bigotry, a fair playing field for all, I don't think that "Affirmative Action" laws are viable.

Thomas Sowell is an academic giant, former Black Panther, and one of my favorite writers.  He has the ability to bring forth facts in a writing style and an economy of words that is like a breath of fresh air.  Rarely if ever are  his books over 200 pages.

If you don't want to buy it, he's in most public libraries, even in the People Republic of Mass.  Unless that is, they have taken to burning the books of authors with views not often tolerated in, shall I say, more liberal circles.

Let me know if you read it, I'd very much like to chat about your thoughts on it.

... I agree that laws probably aren't they way to right things over a long period.  It is a very hard problem.  Massachusetts politics faces these issues all the time.  I assume it is true in other states.  

Mr. Bush is to be commended for seeking and recognizing talent among Blacks and Hispanics and for placing them in high in his administration.  

Our local library system is one of the best in the nation.  Most of the time, they don't pickup books on current political topics (and won't accept political advocacy books as donations).  It is, IMHO, a good practice.  Perhaps you guys in the west might think about it and adopt the same policies.  Run for the local library board in your town.
