But regardless of their bullshittery, you still get a list of trans shooters. Bare in mind trans people make up less than 1% of the population.

The Newsweek article was an apologetics piece. How do you do apologetics pieces like this? You pad the numbers. A mass shooting can be anything if you screw with the standards enough. The article itself shows vastly different numbers of mass shootings depending on the definition.
But lets go with the 300 number, just for argument sake. 1.3% is very significant if the population is less than 1 percent. Please don’t make me give you a lesson in what per capita means.

So let’s review basic math. Suppose 2 black guys and 10 white guys go into a KFC. The white guys and black guys each order 2 buckets of chicken. Which group ate more chicken per person?
If 99% of the population are not trans then what would you expect 99% of the people who hug puppies are? Or 99% who get their dicks caught in their zippers? Or 99% who throw up on New Year’s Eve?
Now if less than 1% of the pop is trans but 1.3% of mass shooters are trans what does that tell you?
The link in the OP (Post Millennial article) says that the Georgia shooter (14 yo Colt Gray) is gay, not trans. It also says: "... "He was just a good kid, but he lived in an environment that was hostile," Charles Polhamus, Colt Gray's grandfather, told CNN. "His dad beat up on him, I mean, I’m not talking about physical, but screaming and hollering, and he did the same thing to my daughter." " . The trans references in that article are about Adam Lanza, the Sandy Hook shooter in 2012, NOT Colt Gray, the GA shooter in 2024.
The definition of mass shooter is 4 or more victims. This is going to encompass a lot of gang banger activity. Blacks are twice as likely to be mass shooters as whites (i.e. blacks are 12% of population but cause 17% of mass shootings, while whites are 62% of the population but only cause 54% of the mass shootings.) . Curiously the transgender numbers could be pretty bad depending on the estimate of trans in the population. There is a lot of variation in the estimates, and this highlights the statistical noise in small numbers. If trans cause 1.3% of mass shooting but are 0.5% of the population, you can see they are nearly three times more likely to be mass shooters than white people. To equal white mass shooter rates, accepting that trans are 1.3% of mass shooters, their population should be 1.5%. So nailing down the actual percentage of transgender people can really skew their mass shooter rating across a wide range. Division by small numbers. A statistical nightmare.
