CBS and Rather 'Regret' Anti-Bush Fakery

Best Rather line in the article:

"We made a mistake in judgment, and for that I am sorry," he said. "It was an error that was made, however, in good faith and in the spirit of trying to carry on a CBS News tradition of investigative reporting without fear or favoritism."

RLMAO, "favoritism"!

It would seem that CBS is going to dissolve their Democratic Political 527!  If they are sincere, canning Rather and Heyward would be a fine start.  Viacom should dump the whole department and start over naming Bernard Goldberg head of the news department.

The question is whether after your own people told you the letters were fake, and after interviewing several people who also said the memo's were fakes, including Killian's wife and son, Rather and Heyward went on the air with the story, conveniently omitting any dissenting opinions!  Was it a mistake at all?

Of course not!  It was done on purpose in arrogance!  The day of the liberal bias in the media is over.  Internet bloggers have toppled the king, long live the bloggers!  The new fourth arm of Government!

But other heads at CBS should roll as well.  To preserve any credibility it has left, CBS should make some prominent changes fast.  Start with Rather, but don't stop there.  But Rather's comment that mistakes were made "in good faith" is a complete crock of shit.  Does he really think that anyone believes that?

Just look at how many believed "Mission Accomplished".

stonewalling on this issue, makes his "good faith" comment rather spurious.  Rather should have been retired years ago - now he's just an embarassment.

Spare me the "liberal media bias"..almost as overused as "tax and spend".  Really, SNL needs some good catchphrase writers.

As for Rather, with your take on it, Reagan should have been impeached for the Iran-Contra thing as well.

A lifetime of service is not thrown out the window for one story.  Thankfully, at least CBS understands that and doesn't listen to the inevitable knee-jerk overreaction by the pigs at the trough.

Eat up...four more years of slops on the way for the angry white males.
