I thought the guy had cojones when OBL was killed, but, one "cave after another to GOP" : debt ceiling debacle, moving job speech day later
to not confict with GOP POTUS debates, etc, etc.

WW had it right : these trying times demand a ballsy POTUS like FDR, Truman & Teddy Roosevelt, but instead, we get a spineless community organizer who doesn't like to fight. Ugh.

This keeps up & BHO reelect prospects will be like this 1 termer he's morphing into :

Carter had lower unemployment rates! ;)

I actually think Obama is closer to Herbert Hoover. Standing around with his thumb up his ass while Rome burns.

I rather liked how Bill Maher summed things up. The problem with politics today is that the Republicans have no brains, and the Democrats have no balls.

Fighting can be very counterproductive.  It always appeases the base sensibilities of people who like to be entertained, sure, but rarely is there substantive result within the confines of something serious like our government where consensus must be reached for there to be success.  These trying times, I believe, demand the type of president that we have.  Sure we can look into history through rose colored goggles of what we thought FDR and Truman were, but making such a judgement warrants a closer examination of both the realities of THOSE times, and how unprecedented THESE times are.  You can always pick and choose similarities to your liking, but you're not going to find a presidency in history where the circumstances are identical to the current one.  Obama isn't perfect, but he's far from a failure.  And, might I add, he's also going to get handily elected to a second term.

You have to understand, you're making this point to a group of mostly weak, ballsless men who probably get usurped and neutered on a daily basis in their offline lives.  They desperately need to witness a stupid spectacle like Presidents fighting and talking "tough" on TV to make them forget, if only for a second, that nobody takes them seriously in their own pitiful, pussyless existence.  It's just more intellectually convenient for them as well.  No yelling or tough talk means nothing's getting done.  See how easy it was to think that?

And do you really think that Pri has a more than shallow understanding of Roosevelt and Truman's terms (if any at all)?  lol.  Cmon.  That motherfucker's two functioning neurons are fried after all the difficult Google image searching he has to do to post a new thread.

you analysis is idiotic beyond belief. As for Truman & FDR, I've forgotten more about them than you know.

by allowing his political strategists to purposely schedule the long-awaited jobs plan speech on the same night as the Republican debate.

And all it really has done is to give free publicity to the organizers of the debate. Most of America didn't even know that there was going to be a debate on that night. Now, there will certainly be mroe people watching it since the President himself has put it in the public news.

against the Republican Presidential Candidates debate, but he can't make Congress invite him to speak in joint chambers, so it's not so much a power struggle issue.

I'm not certain if he's exercising poor judgement, or is ill advised, on many of his decisions, or he's much like Jet Li in the Drunken Master. I will refrain from trying to interpret the success or failure of his presidency; his fumbling, staggering, flailing, etc., until election time.
