The GOP hates our soldiers & their families. They blocked...

...bills for COLA adjustments for disabled veterans as well as "widow & orphan" payments for spouses and children of soldiers killed in action. The gutless Republican senator(s) blocking the bills were not identified.

70 mil was wasted on apology video air time in the M.E.

Where do they get the money? the VA spends alot of money Police, Fire, Hospitals all with the letters VA in front of them. They sub-contact lawn and landscapeing, SC construction that is always scale pay, I know people who make $50+ an hour on a VA job site.

I know not part of that bill, but where does the money come from?

These are the same guys who were screaming at the top of their lungs "support our troops" and yet sent them off to Iraq with inadequate body armor. Meanwhile the "GOOD armor had been given AWAY to our coalition allies as a bribe to keep them engaged in Iraq. Yes, the GOP administration gave the GOOD armor away thus condemning hundreds of U.S troops to their deaths. U.S. soldiers scavanged old metal plates from junked parts to make their own body armor, also families back home tried feverishly to buy body armor for their loved ones in Iraq. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,101061,00.html

Of course they went on reaming the actual troops at every turn, from cutting money for the schools they sent their kids to and Rumsfeld famously failing to armor vehicles for 2.5 years and using a machine to sign death notices.

The Pentagon acknowledged that Donald H. Rumsfeld did not sign condolence letters to the families of soldiers killed in Iraq, but it said that from now on the embattled defense secretary would stop the use of signing machines and would pick up the pen himself.

The government's proposal would eliminate "federal impact aid" provided since 1950 to school districts for military children who live in homes off base, and for children of parents who work as civilians on military bases but live elsewhere.

The cuts, which would save $125 million annually, would affect about 900,000 children nationwide and 63 percent of children in military families, according to the National Association of Federally Impacted Schools. Several local districts would lose a significant amount of funding and would have to cut staff.

Back in May 2011, a motion to raise the pay of veterans in combat, otherwise known as "combat pay," by $180 per month met with a resounding, majority "No!" from House GOP Congressmen.

The military mom, who told Woodbury that the act felt insensitive and hurtful, decided she had to say something.

“Pay the soldiers or bring them home!” she shouted two times. Then “Why don’t you take a pay cut to help the soldiers?”

A security guard approached her and told her that she wasn't supposed to be shouting. Meacham sat down. Then, she said, the acting House Speaker wouldn't stop staring at her.

Suddenly, he issued the order, Meacham claims: "The Sergeant at Arms needs to take control of the gallery now."
Two security guards approached Meacham and asked her to leave with them.

Once outside, the guards put Meacham in cuffs and took her to a detention center, where she says she was subjected to booking procedures as well as a battery of drugs tests and questioning, which oddly enough including asking if she was affiliated with any one political party or group.

The final charge for Meacham was disorderly conduct, and she was banned from visiting Congress for six months. The disorderly conduct charge was eventually dropped, but after weeks of continued drug tests, the sting is still there.

Clinton didn't want to show excessive force so the Rangers were denied the use of several standard support options including armor and fast movers. Those two alone would have produced a much different outcome.

...has nothing to do with it and is merely a non sequitur. . Now if you were to say that the Rangers didn't have armor and 'fast movers' because the Democratic Congress refused to vote for them, you might have a point.

good one P-A-S and you are very much on subject considering it says

GOP hates the troops and their families. you could have also added how bill and hill wouldn't allow the uniform inside the big house because hill said it didn't fit with the look they wanted. And more recently you could have added how the Marines at the Cairo embassy weren't allowed to have rounds in rifles. If that's not hating the troops i don't know what is.

GOP hates the troops.... hmmm ... Obama and his group hate America period.
