Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) is named after John Foster Dulles (1888–1959), who served as the U.S. Secretary of State from 1953 to 1959 under President Dwight D. Eisenhower.
He was Allen Dulles' brother.
Also Penn Station in NY. In return for freeing up previously-authorized funds to build a new rail tunnel under the Hudson River between NY and NJ. Because he know he's hated in NY.
What he's too stupid to understand is the tunnel is important to the entire country because a blockage of the existing, 100-year-old tunnel would choke off trade to the entire East Coast.
Also, his impoundment is almost certainly illegal because it violates the Impoundment Control Act of 1974 (ICA), which limits a president's authority to refuse to spend funds appropriated by Congress. The ICA dictates that a president cannot permanently or indefinitely withhold funding without congressional approval, and it requires specific procedures for any temporary delay (deferral) or permanent cancellation (rescission).
Dulles is someone famous, first civilian CIA director. Of course we all know he is against the deep state.

Hey Mr. Mogul,
Was this a setup? I normally don't use Wikipedia as a source. But it clearly states that the airport was named after Allen's brother. So, I click on his brother's name.
John Foster Dulles is probably spinning in his grave right now. I've reconsidered, out of respect for this fine Republican man, we should remove his name from EVERYTHING this country is currently going through.
But I did mention that he was Republican, right?

Link below.
So someone with a checkered past should keep the name of an airport? I mean how many other things have been re-named because of checkered pasts or controversy that surrounded them.
How I don't think things should be named after Trump by himself saying they need to be named after him. That is just being a dick and egotistical (which we all know Trump is). But why are Dem's pissed when this happens now under Trump but were never upset when other things were renamed because of people's past history?
BTW..... I don't think anything should be renamed unless voted on. Our history even bad history needs to be taught. While many of the "renaming" of things people had issues or controversy they also did good things as well. IT is apart of the history.
But here are some things from John Dulles history....
John Foster Dulles, the U.S. Secretary of State under President Dwight D. Eisenhower, was a pivotal figure in shaping U.S. foreign policy during the Cold War. His tenure was marked by a series of controversial decisions that have been widely discussed and debated. Here are some of the key contriversies associated with Dulles:
CIA Coup Plans: In March 1953, Dulles supported Eisenhower's decision to direct the CIA to draft plans for a coup in Iran, which led to the coup d'état via Operation Ajax. This action was controversial as it involved the overthrow of a democratically elected government.
Guatemalan Coup: In 1954, Dulles instigated a military coup in Guatemala, claiming that President Jacobo Árbenz's government was veering towards communism. This coup was part of a broader effort to contain Soviet influence in Latin America.
Geneva Conference: At the Geneva Conference in 1954, Dulles forbade contact with the Chinese delegation, refused to shake hands with Zhou Enlai, and opposed the plan to partition Vietnam. These actions were seen as a failure to resolve the Vietnam War conflict.
Nuclear Weapons Authorization: In 1958, Dulles authorized the Secretary of the Air Force to publicly state that the United States was prepared to use nuclear weapons in a conflict with China over Quemoy and Matsu islands. This decision was a significant escalation in U.S. nuclear policy.
Dulles' controversies have led to a range of opinions on his legacy. Some view his actions as necessary to contain communism and prevent further Soviet expansion, while others criticize his policies as reckless and counterproductive. His influence on U.S. foreign policy during the Cold War remains a subject of intense debate
or some kind of renegade. You mention Eisenhower almost in passing but ALL the policies pursued by Dulles were Ike's policies.
YOU are ignoring the fact that there is controversy around Dulles.... period. Doesn't matter if they were Ike's ideas.
People would want to cancel JD vance for things because of Trump. Correct???
I never said or implied there was no controversy around Dulles,
You really are a Dullard.
So it shouldn't bother you to rename it.... CORRECT? Since other things got renamed because of controversial pasts of others?
I object to anything being re-named after Trump. It is gross and unseemly for him to be demanding things be renamed after him. He's an egomaniac. The protocol in this and most other countries is to name something after someone who's DEAD.
Trump is only brain dead. Something he has in common with you.
So any of the Army bases, Anything named after a Civil war general even though they were on the South side of things, etc?
Those shouldn't be renamed either? If no they shouldn't be renamed.... Good for you.
There are things named after living people. I agree that Trump shouldn't just rename them in his name by himself. It should go to a committee or something. Then from there if they decide to name it after him.... So be it.
But you never spoke up when other things got renamed.... Only when it is Trump. That is the point and I am not wrong on that.
Now you've introduced a new issue: Civil War generals. I never said whether or not they should be renamed. But bit's fine with me.
So is it your Position one of more of them should be called "Fort Trump?" That would be ironic considering your President is perhaps our most famous draft dodger.
NO.... you stated you are against name changes. that isn't goal post moving. I brought up things that have had name changes. YOU DIDNT SPEAK UP FOR THEM. Controversy is controversy.
Dulles had controversy.... just like all these other name changes. But got it..... selective outrage. It is what the liberals love to do.
I AM AGAINST ALL NAME CHANGES.... yes I screamed it. By taking names off things erases history....even bad history. Need to know about the bad and the good. Even the civil war generals and others with "bad history" or "controversies" have done good in the past. Yeah confederate generals still did good prior to the civil war. Many fought in other wars prior to being in the Civil War.
You can't read. And you mischaracterize what I wrote. I never SAID I was "against name changes." I said I was against Trump naming things after himself. YOU brought up the Civil War name changes, not me. But now you retroactively expected me to "SPEAK UP FOR THEM?" You really make no sense at all.
And then you make excuses for people who betrayed this country. What a great patriot you are.
Mr. Charisma,
What you need to do is stop making me look into things that previously didn't interest me. I stand by Dulles and all his "controversies". So much so that I wish I were having another baby so I could name it John Dulles!
The man was an extreme Patriot who didn't care who it offended. He defended the US during the Cold War. If he were alive today, he'd be a MAGA hero. He kept America First. Again, he was a principled man from a principled family. They just don't make them like that anymore...
Shall we list Dulles' "controversies" vs. Trump's?
