So you bring up a video talking about dementia in the Rio Grande Valley or "South Texas". Which is a popular place for people to RETIRE.
Research is showing that dementia increasing everywhere. I am sure if they would go to any area where it is loaded with seniors it would be higher than the national average.
This part of Texas is flooded with retirees (Winter Texans) who find this part of the country attractive for retirement simply for the reason of how cheap it is. A retiree can buy a second home down there in a mobile home park for as cheap as $35K with lot rents starting around $200/mo. Other than cheap, there isn't much for amenities to draw folks in. If you can't buy, you can rent a fully furnished unit for $2500 for the season and spend every day participating in planned events or swimming in the part pool. You can buy a very good 12 oz ribeye at Cheddars for $24 or a beer at a local tavern for $3.00. A round of golf is around $30. Full service massage parlors will run you around $225 with a table shower and you can walk right in. There are several strip bars in the area but the best one is called the Tex-Mex. $5 cover, $5 ice cold beers, $20 table dances with all access both ways and $170 for boom boom upstairs. If you can pick you days, flights from the MPLS are available for $120 RT. Drive 15 minutes and walk into Mexico for super cheap food, drink, OTC meds, health services and pussy.
It's mecca for low-middle class retirees for what a storage shed would cost in FL or AZ. Other than mongering and day drinking, It's boring as fuck but it's also a great home base to use as a launch pad to other more desirable locations. Btw, a lot of these folks don't vote there if that's the point you were trying to make, they still register at home in the midwest or canada.
Will the rural hospitals/Clinics be around to support these people? They'll mostly likely seek the services across the border, where it'll be available and cheaper.
You do know that in the bill is a $50B Rural Health Transformation Fund that will help with the already dying rural hospital system that has been dying since early 2000's and been closing hundreds of hospitals/clinics a year. Also in this bill it gives extra funding to any State that accepted the ACA Medicaid expansion program which gives benefits to people at 138% of the fed poverty level. I am sure things liberal media and Congress isn't telling anyone.
Not sure if I went over it here or not. But the ACA credit they are screaming about was a "temp" thing they did during COVID that was supposed to end in 2025 and bring things back to pre 2021. That is what they are yelling about. IF it was so great why didn't they make it permanent back in 2021? If the ACA is so great why does it need tax credits? I could go off my rocker on the ACA and how it did the exact opposite of what they said it would do and just gave the open door for the medical world and insurance companies to charge what they want. Yes they work hand in hand. BOTH are the enemy. Sad but true. Let alone all the tax increase in the ACA bill that were hidden....payroll tax , tax bracket increase, estate tax, cap gains tax, transaction taxes, divided taxes, etc.
Because the 150B is the projected cut from Medicaid that rural hospitals and clinics will have to endure with the BBB. And when ACA premiums accelerate at the end of the year, people will opt out and decide not to have insurance which means hospitals will loose revenue and this alone will expedite their closure. Then wait till after the midterms, thats when the Medicaid cuts really kick in.. adios to the rural hospitals And that 50B that’s allocated? It hasn’t been decided how they’re going to divide it.I hear that only 25B will be to each individual state, equally regardless of how many rural hospitals. One state with 3 rural hospitals will get the same as a state with 90. Which it looks like will affect red states, my guess
You do know the "rural" hospital is a lie being pushed. There is a program in the USDA called Community Facilities Program (CF). SNAP is lumped into that program. So with the SNAP cuts or requirements the DEM"s are saying rural hospitals are the ones going to be hurt. When it is only the people abusing SNAP. But Again they want to mislead you. Since lots of things are in with the CF program they can say everything in that program is the target when it is just one part of it. If they do cut the "fraud" or misuse of SNAP it could have more money for rural hospitals.
BUT....You do know that "rural" hospitals were closing at an alarming rate ever since the ACA. Many have stopped all together taking Medicaid and Medicare. This has been an issue since 2005. There is funding in the USDA called the CF program that give funding to "rural" hospitals. Maybe it is because of the abuse of SNAP. Also the "tax credits" that the dem's kick and scream was a COVID prevision put in. Which was never meant to be permanent. Put in by Biden and Dem controlled congress in 2021. Why didn't they make those permanent.... why the sunset clause? Just like all of the COVID FUNDING.... why are they fight to keep that spending and funding? It was never meant to be a staple or permanent fixture... yet here we are. MORE WELFARE. So again lots of misleading going on. The COVID ACA credit that Dem's put in place and put in the sunset clause is expiring. The SNAP cuts/regulations but they are saying it is "rural" hospitals when it is SNAP abuse by illegals or able body people that they want to cut down on. The welfare abuse. But just ignore all of that which is going on.... I mean MN is a prime example. Roughly $2B in "fraud" being found out in State/Federal abuse of programs. Which are "welfare" type programs.... housing assistance, medical care, food assistance, etc. Let alone the ICE operation they just talked about (video link). Which could play a role in the abuse/fraud being found. Some of them are immigrants. Did they overstay Visa's or apart of sham marriages?
those who are in the early stages of dementia and/or have run through most of their retirement savings, this is like a playground for horny old, retired guys. Hospitals triage incoming patients, so if any of these guys are need critical care, they will get it. They will at least go to the front of the line for medical services ahead of the illegals who don't have medical coverage and can't pay the bill.
