So I ask.....

Lets assume the Govt Shuts Down until Trump is enshrined.  How does that change anything from now?  U still have a budget to pass and it will most likely take Dem votes because the margin of error on the R sign is razor thin.

So, I ask, what changes?

You can have the Democrats 1,547 page monstrosity of wasteful pork barrel spending when we're 36 trillion in debt.

Or you can have the 120 page bill of a clean CR plus farm and hurricane victim relief, as in a sane way to run a government.

Or you can have the government shut down because the Democrat minority is utterly insane and throwing a temper tantrum because they're not allowed to wreck the country.

In this scenario, the voters just voted for the later and those who lost the last election are pushing for the former. Therefore, it benefits the Republicans to stand their ground, and it will cost Democrats by the day to stand theirs. No only by hurting them in the election, but depriving their benefactors of wasteful spending. In fact, the longer the Republicans stand their ground, the weaker the Democrats will become. If the Dems were smart, they'd vote with the GOP post haste and wait next year to debate the merits of their pork. Who knows, maybe there's good reasons to spend taxpayer money on Ukrainian bio weapons labs after the world just got shut down because of Covid.

Nikki Haley and others disagree with willy's lies:

"In the first debate, Haley said: "No one is telling the American people the truth. The truth is that Biden didn't do this to us. Our Republicans did this to us too. When they passed that $2.2 trillion COVID stimulus bill, they left us with 90 million people on Medicaid, 42 million people on food stamps. No one has told you how to fix it... You have Ron DeSantis, you've got Tim Scott, you've got Mike Pence — they all voted to raise the debt. And Donald Trump added $8 trillion to our debt. Our kids are never going to forgive us for this." ..."
.
"In 2012, DeSantis promised he would never vote to increase the debt limit, saying, "I'm not going to raise the debt ceiling. We need to force Congress to make tough choices."
Once in Congress, DeSantis voted for the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2018 that raised Budget Control Act caps by $296 billion and suspended the debt ceiling. Trump signed it into law. ..."
.
Earmarks: "Roll Call, a news service that covers congressional legislation, reported in July 2023 that Republican House of Representatives members put $7.4 billion and Democratic House members $2.8 billion in earmarks in fiscal 2024 spending bills. Republican presidential candidate and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley criticized the GOP earmarks during the Aug. 23, 2023, Republican presidential debate in Milwaukee. ..."
.
Willy and other Trump MAGAs LIED to the voters about earmarks and budgets and the MAGAs ate it up. Musk and Trump wanted the House to pass a bill that would REMOVE THE DEBT LIMIT!!! Musk's twisted reasoning seemed to be, "Remove the debt limit so we can lower the debt." Only idiots like Trump and hard core MAGAs fell for that idea.

Republican Spending Bill Proposal Is Amazing for China, and for Musk.
.
["Musk may have sought to upend this critical negotiated agreement to remove a bipartisan provision regulating U.S. investments in China in order to protect his wallet and the Chinese Communist Party at the expense of American workers, innovators, and businesses."]
.
"Why It Matters: Musk, who is the world's richest man, has significant business interests in China. His company Tesla opened a "gigafactory" in Shanghai in 2019, building cars for the Chinese domestic market as well as Australasia. By 2022, China accounted for about 22.5 percent of Tesla's total revenue. And in 2023, he said he wanted to expand his business in China as he met Foreign Minister Qin Gang in Beijing. Musk has also said he wants to build a second factory in China, which is the world's biggest electric vehicle market. ..."

This is one of the major problems with Congress. They shove unrelated bullshit into other bills to get them to pass under the threat of blackmailing other members of Congress into voting against the other measure.

Every bill should be single issue. What investments that are made in China should be debated openly on just that issue. Shoving it into a budget bill is just Congress being corrupt. And Congress doing so is a threat to democracy.

Just like Democrats like Nicky. Nicky is a threat to democracy too. Plus he talks to horses. And other barn yard animals.

Off the top of their head, who can name when the last 5 took place?   It's the swamp people who get the squeeze because their paychecks are not going out.  When they get tired of it, they will pressure the Dems they work for persuade the Dems in Congress to support the shortened bill.   Once Trump is sworn in, all will be well, and Trump will get what he wants.    It's ironic that the Dem Congressmen are more worried about their own $6600 raise than helping the American people.   Jeffries is never going to out-negotiate Trump, so he needs to get in line or his own party will do to him what the Republicans did to McCarthy.

the bill as is.  The only thing that changed is that the debt ceiling was not frozen at this time.  It will be taken up again in March.

Why is it that every funding bill this Congress passes has more Dem votes than R votes?

Just wondering.

The only thing that changed from the 2nd bill to the current one is the debt ceiling was removed.  The 2nd one may have passed if it wasn't there in the first place.  And of course, the bi-partisan agreement would have passed if the R's had not reneged.

Sorry, but it was the Republicans that caved by stripping out the debt ceiling expansion Trump demanded. So the big loser is TRUMP. He had insisted on it and vowed to primary any Republican who voted for it. And 170 House Republicans did just that.
You lose, Don.
