As I predicted, did ok per screen average
( third behind "Scream 4", which did "disappointing business") because of "right wing think tank cultists", paid to see the movie, but, the movies total gross is pathetically pawltry peanuts ( probably as much as GaG gambles in a week----LOL !) as seen in the link below . Has to be a disappointment to Tea partiers, or, as said in this quote from same website which is linked below : "Meanwhile, Atlas Shrugged: Part I generated $683,000 [Fri.] at 300 locations. That was a modest start for the adaptation of the first third of Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged, particularly considering the media hype it received for its topicality and "Tea Party" appeal"

Low grosses obviously due to the limited amount of theatres ( 300 ) playing this turkey. Why aren't more theatres playing "Atlas Shrugged" ? Because savvy theatre owners know the mass public won't shell out $ to see this "right-wing dreck".

The proof in the pudding will be the 2nd week grosses. My guess is the box office will take a steep drop next week, but I'll give it the benefit
of the doubt till then. I'll be sure to keep everyone posted----:)

What gets me about the Left Wing is how intolerant they are of any source of media that doesn't echo their beliefs. One of the reasons why most movies and TV shows suck so bad is there is no diversity of ideas.

Many movies start with limited releases so this isn't unusual.  It did get a slightly higher avg. per screen than Redford's "The Conspirator" which is supposed to be a very preachy left wing movie (I haven't seen it yet so I won't make multiple posts hoping for its failure as some sort of perverse validation).

This movie probably will fail not due to politics but because it seems to be a poorly made movie by most accounts.  Low budget, bad acting, poor script adaptation, etc.  The idea of one book turned into a movie trilogy is not appealing.  That is why the book has been called "unfilmable" for decades.

You can just go see a movie about an evil corporation poisoning babies or an evil military plot to cancel the music program at the School for Gifted and Talented Sassy Gay Boys.   I'm sure there is one playing at your local theater.
