Why hasn't this got more play?

Obama wants to raise my taxes by thousands upon thousands of dollars partly to combat world poverty, but he allows his own flesh and blood to wallow in abject poverty.

Fuck the Swiftboats, this is unfuckingbelieveable. Just where the fuck does this hypocrite get off? and his fucking cunt of a wife who is more than happy to get rich in this country but has never been proud of it. I wish I had the power to switch her life for that of her brother in law.

How can anyone look themself in the mirror and say they support this hypocritical asshole?

It's a shit-bomb conservatives have laid and timed with the announcement of the vice president.

Not a total loss though. It did give you a chance to call Michelle Obama a cunt.

OBTW, I never knew patriotism was a moral requirement for getting rich. They do call it fuck- you money for a reason.

having been essentially abandoned by pop at an early age, and having only the most tenuous connections with him until adulthood, it might not be all that surprising that BHO migh not necessarily feel any great impulse to assist his half-brother in his plight.  does BHO even know his half brother?

the Senator's thoughts and prescriptions on the alleviation of world poverty [nice trick if it cold be pulled off] can stand and fall on their own merits, or lack of same, without the introduction of this incredible straw man.

still, food for thought

and complicated up by his family (families) moving all around overseas, it is quite possible that he has a few half-siblings he doesn't know about.

But it's more easily possible that literally almost anybody can claim to be his sibling. Unless its verified by DNA, don't even argue it.

You obviously didn't even read the Vanity Fair article (a true conservative rag) nor any of the reprints in all those conservative hate papers, LOL.

BHO admits to meeting George. The article states that while BHO did not mention George in his latest book, he did write about a meeting they had. It also says he wrote about 8 other "half" siblings.

Truth or dare time ZIN. If George were YOUR brother, would YOU do NOTHING as well, allowing him to live in a card board box on about $12 per year, without sending as much as Kwanzaa card? Maybe BHO considers $12/year to be middle class in Kenya, LOL.

OR I dare you to continue to keep your head in the sand.

He even wrote about his 1/2 brother in his book. Regardess of being a full or half sibling there's no excuse to ingnore a person who you have the power to help.

Of course it is true.  He hasn't denied it. No one on his campaign has denied it. Neither he nor his staff are shy about denying things that they can dispute.

Hey, he has acknowledged the guy in the past.

I thought obamists were blind before, but when you start denying stuff that they admit is the truth, I have to ask why do you have to go to such incredible lengths to defend the guy.

that just asked if Republicans would care and I quote "if he actually opened up his pants and pissed on the stage." This in response to a question about how many homes he and his extremely wealthy wife owned.

Now that the shoe in on the other foot. Zin is the only one that simply denies that facts that Obama has not only admitted to, but has actually put in HIS book. Talk about denial, it reminds me of an arguement I had with him. Zin, when presented proof of his hypocrisy instead of either admitting or denying his guilt,Zin chose instead to argue the definition of hypocrisy and how he as an atheist could not, by definition be a hypocrite.

Zin, how can you wonder why on occasion I consider you a douche bag?

If you have no answer to the question, just admit it. Your guy is only willing to solve the world's problems with OPM, OTOH he won't lift a finger to help his own flesh and blood. Just when you think you couldn't think less of a person, he outdoes himself.

Bingo. OPM, exactly.

Obama is the man when it comes to telling us we have to pay more to help the poor. What kind of low bastard wouldn't help his own family? He could send $5,000 to each of his 9 siblings and he'd be out less than 1/10th of 1% that he and Michelle made in the last two years.

What a hypocrite! You don't need to be Freud to figure out why he thinks the rest of the world hates us.

I am not willing to take the word of a single website, so I am not yet willing to assume that the story of a severely impoverished brother is the gospel truth yet.

HOWEVER, it certainly bears investigating, and if the story IS true, it DOES in fact represent a serious blow to Obama's credibility when it comes to his position on The Global Poverty act, among other things. After all, if a man isn't willing to do anything to lift his own flesh and blood up out of abject poverty, who in the hell does he think he is to reach into MY wallet to extract taxes to lift HIS brother out of poverty??

So yes, the quetsion is a valid one IF the original story is in fact true, and shame on the media if they completely ignore the story without bothering to dig around and find out if there is any truth to it.

Straw man indeed, and a lot of assumptions others are making without any information.

Who says he doesn't care, or hasn't tried to help in the past? All anyone knows is the half-brother is struggling today - we know nothing of the circumstances that put him there. Maybe Obama has tried in the past but was unsuccessful or felt he was just enabling him (gambling, drugs, whatever) with gift money. Who knows yet?

But Zin is already claiming it must be false without any evidence while all the righty-tighties are jumping over themselves to paint Obama as completely uncaring of the situation while knowing nothing of the true situation. I'm kind of surprised GaG is leading the Spartans on this one.

Can't we just ridicule Obama for his lack of experience and substance, and potentially horrendous policy proposals, without resorting to this garbage?

It all looks and smells alike to me. It's still just as worthless and stinking. This entire story deserves skepticism you refuse to give it.

Why? Obama has been a community organizer, constitutional lawyer, and editor of the Harvard Law Review. You and other conservatives are not going to suddenly discover that he has serious personality disorders. That would be like somebody discovering after putting 50 thousand miles on a car that the battery has been hooked up backward all that time. It just doesn't happen. Basically, people notice things like that pretty damn quick and the guy ends up in prison or being a tow-truck driver after his network collapses.

There is something about the picture you've drawn that just doesn't add up. You're not liking my brand of skepticism doesn't excuse you from  refusing to have any, nor does any of your personal judgments of me. You talk about the "bias" of the mainstream media and think you're so wise for figuring it out. People are putting out stories like this one you've cited for a reason. They've calculated the timing of it carefully. Don't you see that?

Meanwhile, there are some people who have never met their half-siblings. I'm not going to try to guess the shit under the shell this time. I simply don't buy it, don't buy the emotions or lack of them, that you've attached to this.

As for hypocrisy, have you ever tried to define it or think about it yourself? I have tried at least to understand it, and at one point, understanding  broke down. Considering how many accusations of hypocrisy are flying these days, and how it clouds communication, you should try to get a handle on it and untangle what is really really being said. Otherwise, I just think you're confused-- and loving it.

Not denying what Obama said in his book: I haven't read the book. I'm reading "The Wrecking Crew" by Thomas Frank right now.

OK, so you're arguing that it's bullshit but admit you haven't read Obama's book. But you probably are an expert on bullshit if you're reading Thomas Frank.

Toodin says it can't be true because, "Obama has been a community organizer, constitutional lawyer, and editor of the Harvard Law Review" so it won't be discovered he has personality disorders.

Two stupid points in that one sentence.

1) that type of person isn't immunde from personality disorders.  It is like saying, "He's accomplished. He has to be normal."  Nope.

2) not helping his brother isn't a "personality disorder."  It is just uncaring and selfish.  There are a lot of sucessful people who fit the bill.

And don't hide behind saying a lot of people never met their half-siblings.  A lot of people may have not. But Obama admits he has.

He met the guy. He just didn't care.

If he wasn't so eager to give MY money away to fight "world poverty". It's one thing to have a relative in this country who is to lazy to work and lives on welfare, some people are beyond help and everyone in this country has opportunities and a safety net if they are too lazy to work. It's quite another to have family in a third world country who lives on a "dollar a month"

You would think that a truly caring person, one who is worthy of becoming POTUS would have at least made sure his own flesh and blood was at least fed. Especially when to do so would take so little from Obama. We're not talking about enabling a crack head, we're talking about basic human needs.

Those looking for any and every convenient stick with which to beat up on Senator BHO are welcome to grab this one and to swing for all they're worth.  Er, excuse me, some are already doing just that.
