Anyone who knows they will be part of the investigation needs to hire their own attorney. It says nothing about innocence or guilt. You clearly have no idea how the process is supposed to work. When any Democrat has been potentially subject to investigation they, too, hire an outside attorney. As Jeff Toobin has explained in the case of Mike Pence, there is no guilt at all implied by this, except to mindless partisan hacks such as yourself.

#1 Comey said he interpreted the conversation as a request to shut it down - that may or may not have been leaked - I don't recall #2 Trump said he was thinking of this Russia "thing" - never said he fired him because of the investigation

Honestly I think he fired him because he would not publicly say Trump was not under investigation, given that in 2016 he publicly cleared Hillary - but I guess that might just be me.
