So I tend not to make them. There are so many possibilities for how this ends. Yours are just one of them. But nothing is carved in stone. The Ukrainians are smart and scrappy. The Russians are corrupt and unmotivated.
Anything can happen.

"President Biden has for the first time authorized Ukrainian forces to use Western-made long-range weapons to strike inside Russia" -- Wall Street Journal
.
Wonder if the Russians will notice.

Ukrainian forces have been authorized to use US-made (not "Western-made") weapons in Russia for a long time. All he just did was extend the range. This in response to Russia using North Korean soldiers in the war along with North Korean weapons for even longer, not to mention Iranian weapons.
Buy a clue, Fester.

(like weapons supplies) with speculative or politically charged claims (like troop involvement and blanket authorizations).

I am all for defensive weapons but not offensive ones. The extension allows the Ukrainians to kill Russian civilians. I am all for defending Ukraine but not at all for them using our weapons to wage war well inside Russia. This is all moot as Trump will force Zelensky into a truce he doesn't really want but one that both sides need. This war needs to end VERY soon.

They have struck all the way to Moscow. So this move adds only a little to their capability. Meanwhile, yesterday the Russians blitzed Ukraine with hundreds of missiles and drones, killing dozens of civilians. And they'll do it again. Why would we expect Ukraine to fight with one hand tied behind its back?
And I don't think we have any idea what Trump will try to force on Zelensky. Russian TV just humiliated Trump by showing pictures of Melania in a bikini. And Putin told Trump to pound sand about going into negotiations.
This war should end when the Ukrainians decide it needs to. Meanwhile, they're doing us a favor by dismantling the Russian army.

Funding will dry up and Zelensky will be forced to give up land. You know that. It's not fair, but you know history all too well to know there is some other outcome. Both Putin and Zelensky want this war to end. It's now just a question of where the new boundaries are drawn.

So I tend not to make them. There are so many possibilities for how this ends. Yours are just one of them. But nothing is carved in stone. The Ukrainians are smart and scrappy. The Russians are corrupt and unmotivated.

The extension does NOT allow Ukraine to kill civilians.
The long range weapons are/will be used to destroy the rockets/missiles/artillery located inside Russia that putin/Russia is using to intentionally and with forethought killing tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands,  Ukrainian civilians and destroying Ukrainian cities and towns and Ukrainian infrastructure.
Ukraine will also target Russian military targets and the tens of thousands NK troops sent to Russia to fight against Ukraine.

Tragically there may be civilians killed, and as I said unlike putin Ukraine will not be targeting civilians.

Why are you defending putin and Russia?

RespectfulRobert26 reads

As a result of Ukraine using longer range munitions, of course more Russian civilians will be killed. The further you strike into Russia, the more likelihood there is to be more civilian collateral damage.
.
It makes no sense to me to provoke a nuclear power over a small amount of land we know Putin isn't giving up. Thats not "defending Putin". It's being pragmatic that this war needs to end very soon and antagonizing Putin at this late stage only makes it more likely he uses drastic measures in Ukraine.
.
The U.S. needs to start de-escalating this conflict. What Joe is doing is a move toward escalation. Pretty shocked you are taking Joe's back here.

Try to get this through your head, Ukraine is/will target Russia’s offensive weapons inside Russia…..Let me say it again Russia’s OFFENSIVE weapons that are being used to KILL tens if not hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian civilians. And other military sites and NK troops who will be used if not already being used to fight Ukraine.
Ukraine, unlike Russia will NOT be targeting Russian civilians.
The few, yes I said few Russian civilians who may be killed will most likely be working with and for the Russian military on military bases.

Provoking a nuclear power, no it is standing up to a savage bully, putin, who has nuclear weapons and has made threats but is smart enough to not follow through.

Also doesn’t it tell you how weak putins military is when he has to get his NK pal to send over ten thousand, probably more, troops to go into combat against Ukraine?

So why not kill and destroy the weapons and troops that are want to kill you and your civilians  and destroy  your towns and cities before they get the chance to do so.

Taking bidens back, I would not say that, it is more like I harshly criticize him for not doing this 2.5 years ago.
How about you stop sympathizing with the savage putin and advocate that he de-escalate, because putin getting tens of thousands of troops troop’s from NK is provoking and escalating the war.

My opinion is that biden is doing it in hopes of fucking things up and make it much more difficult for Trump to get a peace agreement and biden is no longer getting any $$$$$$$ payoffs  from Ukraine.

just means you will lose the war at a slower pace resulting in more death and destruction along the way.    Since you are okay with the Russians killing civilians, but not the Ukrainians, it's pretty clear which side you are on, Comrade Robert.

RespectfulRobert24 reads

Point to me the post where I said I am "okay with Russian killing civilians..."  I'll wait.

a couple of times.  You say it's NOT okay for Ukraine to launch missiles deep into Russia that might kill civilians, but you tacitly avoid condemning Russia for the same thing against Ukraine.  You didn't have to spell it out.  Your omission of criticism of Russia while criticizing the next move for Ukraine says which "side" you are on. It's like saying you are not okay with a woman who gets physically abused by her husband hitting him over the head with a frying pan because it might kill him.  No need to wait.  Consider your inner self exposed.

So this pointless ridiculous conflict can be ended. I doubt it will even take Trump a month to end it.

Ukraine is using US rockets (not bombs) to attack a country that blatantly invaded it and continuously launches rocket, drone and bomb attacks on it from Russian territory. Then Russia complains when Ukraine does the same thing.
Fester is a Red Goo-guzzling Russian stooge.

Oh, well would you just look at that.

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then......🤣🤣

I have ALWAYS supported Ukraine and US military aid. Have you been in a coma?
Or just wallowing in your own ignorance, as usual?

durran42123 reads

Often I say the same thing Trump says here after hearing TATL try to rebut anything.......

The USA builds the bombs.  The USA pays for the bombs.  The USA ships the bombs to the Ukraine.  The USA teaches Ukraine how to aim and fire the bombs.  The USA selects the acceptable targets.  The USA says go ahead and send the bombs.  Some Ukraine guy (we presume, and not a USA advisor) pushes the button that sends the bombs.
.
"Neener neener, it's not the USA doing it!!!"
.
I'm sure your lawyering of the situation will convince the Russians.

most of what he pointed out is true but it doesn't support his overly-simplistic deceitful comment that the US is "now bombing Russia." Why not take it a step further and assert that "the US has murdered hundreds of thousands of innocent Russian soldiers."
Fester is a Russian stooge.

Russia claims to have shot down five of the six long-range missiles before they reached their target.  Putin replied that he is now considering tactical nuclear options.  Joe is out of his league and should just go lay on the beach and let Trump handle this.  Joe's nickname, is, "Mister Make-it-worse."

You believe Putin's report of shooting down five of six missiles? LOLOL! The Russians ALWAYS lie about the impact of Ukrainian attacks.
And Putin ALWAYS saber rattles about nukes and never does anything. And he won't this time. Why wouldn't he just wait for his stooge Trump to take over.  Putin knows he can count on Trump to stab Ukraine in the back.

Washington Post:

Breaking news: President Joe Biden has authorized the provision of antipersonnel land mines to Ukraine, two U.S. officials said, a step that will bolster Kyiv’s defenses against advancing Russian troops but has drawn criticism from arms control groups.
Coby Badhwar, Defense Analyst:
The Biden Admin has approved the provision of antipersonnel land mines to Ukraine.

File this one under things that should have been provided *before* the invasion that are now coming after 3 years of requests from the Ukrainian government.

The Air Force could have hit the Russian president's facility with an underground command post with a Storm Shadow, Defense Express reports.

According to Defense Express analysts, it is highly likely that this is not an ordinary communications facility, but a buried command post that may be located on the territory of the Baryatinsky estate in the Kursk region, which is subordinate to the Russian Presidential Administration.

"Given the proximity of the sanatorium, it is very likely that it was used by the command of the Russian troops in the Kursk region. And given that the DPRK troops are also operating there, it is possible that North Korean generals could have been there." - the statement said.
