Greenhouse gases have their effect on temperatures, but of course, the sun has the trump card over any other factor. If it turns out that the sun has decided to cool it, global warming will not be an immediate concern. IMHO, it means we're being saved by pure luck.
Believe me, if it's true, I'm relieved.
So, maybe we get another century, or maybe more to figure out the science of greenhouse gases so we don't fall into this kind of stand-off when the sun heats up.

Then - I think that I've been saying that the certainty with which Al "I invented the internet" Gore proposes global warming is more alarming than the actual threat itself.
I have also pointed out that temp measurements on Mars and Pluto support that other factors within the SOLAR SYSTEM are at play and NOT just CO2 emissions.
Finally, I have also pointed out that we've data that support that global cooling may also be happening.
I suspect he already knows. The usual trick is to label some legislation as a cure for something when in fact it does the opposite. The ONLY reason legislation gets such dumbass names is to convince people it's going to solve the problem, instead of just suck the victims' blood.
I love it when all the libs and media call for gun control... we already have gun control in the law.... We need to enforce the existing law....! we don't cause when we do, the media jumps to the felon's side crying "oh poor baby had a bad childhood and is not responsible for blowing away half the campus population!" yea... great.... get more laws that no one enforces and define the laws so that law abiding citizens break the law without knowing it unless they hire a lawyer....

At the rate of oil consumption today, the odds are, there won't be enough oil to keep everyone warm in a hundred years..So my bet says people will be freezing to death instead of burning up.
