For some damn reason, I seem to be very alert all of a sudden to instances where it seems to me that our rights are violated by law.  The posts about search/seizure at custom locations was enlightening and personally I can't image why I haven't heard the outrage over this on national news.  But today in Atlanta, another scenario came up.... Person who was licensed to carry a weapon drove into his own driveway.  Upon exiting his car, his neighbor's large dog charged toward him.  The person shot the dog claiming he was afraid the dog would injure him.  Well, this guy got arrested/charged with firing a weapon near a public street, cruelity to animals, and a few other charges related to public endangerment.  Trial took place and he was found guilty and sentenced to two years in prison.  So, if you have right to bear arms, carry a weapon, etc... isn't it sort of inherant that you have the right to use that weapon if you are in fear of your own safety.

Do you have a link to this? Atlanta cops and DAs have a prosecutorial attitude anyway. I heard about a man who ran across the interstate bc his car stalled on the left hand side. He ran across 4 lanes of traffic to go to the other side and was hit by a car and killed. The person driving was charged and convicted of vehicular manslaughter! Punishing the victim is real common here. Remember when 4 cops shot that elderly black woman after they lied to a judge to get a warrantless search?
