Reid said Dec. 17 on ABC's ``This Week'' program that he would support a surge of American forces for two or three months as part of a larger plan to withdraw combat troops by 2008. Reid told reporters he changed his mind after learning that U.S. commanders on the ground didn't think a surge would work.
Exactly right. Bush has claimed the same thing -- that the troop levels will be determined by the commanders on the ground -- then he fires the generals who don't agree with his position. He's still the same old W, a man incapable of doing the job.
