I am speaking for "tens of thousands of people" in the Gallup poll

So I've been randomly selected to be a member of "the Gallup Poll Panel", which has 2000 people across the country.  I had to agree to a 15 minute telephone poll every two weeks, plus fill out some paperwork up front.  It's a two-year commitment.  I thought why not.  They said in the packet of materials that I will speak for "tens of thousands of people".

They called me for the first time tonight, and big surprise, asked who I thought I would vote for.  I said Kerry, because that's where I'm leaning now.  I could change my mind, not sure.

Anyway, I'll probably drop in on this board more often now.  You guys need to tone it down a little.  A lot of us get turned off when we come here because of the way you insult each other.

I think in this election, given highly fragmented nature of our country, and the level of polarization,  pollings will require to be much more complex, and the sample size larger before we get anything accurate.  Havind covered the disclaimer, a little update!

September 30th, Kerry 254,Bush 280
October 7th, Kerry 253,Bush 264

So Kerry has closed the gap, but not the deal! He needs another great performance tomorrow night.  Given the topic will be domestic issues, seems like he has a clear shot.

I would think being selected would make one pretty self conscious about his opinions.  How did you get selected?  Please keep us in the loop.  I've never encountered anyone in your position before.

I guess I fit what they wanted, so they asked if I would, and I said yes.  I don't think you really get "selected" based on any criteria other than demographics.

I'll try to keep you guys in the loop about it.  So far they've only called one time, but I just started.
