They're reactionaries using christianity as a justification for picking fights.

You know, stuff like vandalizing abortion clinics, shooting at doctors, etc.  The really courageous ones, like Pat Robertson, build empires from the social security checks of little old ladies who don't like hearing people talk about science.

What we're talking about is a generation of clergy who realize that it's all about financing entertainment.   The catholics just molest boys; the televangelists want control of the entire country, as a means to fuck with the entire world in Jesus' name.
