Politics and Religion

What if.....

I sometimes wonder "what if the government, law enforcement, the religious right, etc all got together and figured out a way to catch providers and hobbyists in the act and prosecute them with virtually 100% success."  So the consequence was (however improbable) that they could truly short circuit the hobbying industry in the US.  Socially, what would happen?  Would a certain percentage of people just lose their minds?  Would violence levels explode even more than they seem to today?  Would it force all prospective hobbyists to try and cultivate "civvie" on the side relationships?  Would we all just watch a lot more porn and wack off more?  Or would we just find alternative diversions (drugs, rocknroll, etc).  Some may think it would all just go more underground....but I am wondering what would happen societally if there was really a way to shut the whole thing virtually down?  I guess those that had money would go abroad....but what about the average joe who doesnt have that kind of cash?  Personally I think the shock to the collective societal system would be pretty bad...and I dont think the consequences would be very good.  So I guess we have to thank those ladies out there who are frankly doing a hell of a public service!

Not to mention the fact that many of the hobby's biggest enemies, Elliot Spitzer is a name that leaps to mind, are secretly mongers themselves.

Decades after the "War on Drugs" was launched on our own citizens, the price of cocaine among other drugs has fallen by about 50%, great job there Federal Government.

how do you know the price of cocaine and other drugs?
just asking

and I've made no secret that not only have I indulged in the past, but that I indulged a LOT.

I remember in the early 80's "Miami Vice" era, cocaine was selling for about two grand an ounce, you can buy it all day now for about half that. Pot is a harder drug to compare as the pot of yesteryear doesn't hold a candle to the shit that Willy and co smoke today, so it's really hard to compare prices as today's product is so much superior.

The point remains, the "war on drugs" is a miserable failure and always will be as long as there is a demand.

Police Officers, Police departments, Mayors, politicians, correctional facilities, Governors, Congressmen and Senators would all lose out BIG by totally eradicating vice!

You can't have a 'Parent's Against Porn' action group without "Pornography" to justify its existence

just like having a bunch of liquor stores, bars and stupid people who drink and drive.
They don't have those sobriety check points just for fun or because they care about the public.

In poor areas everybody knows where and who sells drugs. Do police ever go there? Sometimes they might.

Do they go calling every number in papers advertising providers? Sometimes they do.

I guess that's why they call it "controlling" it.

If you are smart enough. You can decrease the chances or being one of the controlled ones. You can pass undetected by not being suspicious.

You know what they say: "They cannot arrest us all"... there is no space in jail.

That first track sounded like a collaboration between Lewis Black, and Trent Reznor.

Yup the Democrats own this one too..They created the crisis, and then reached out to Washington for help.

The Corrections Secretary has since stepped down.

I woke in the morning and found out I won the Lottery?

Shit, didn’t happen

but yeah, me too. I am a gambler, not a dreamer. I didn't buy a ticket either. Truth be told, if I had found myself in a gas station or market that sold lottery tickets before the drawing, I MIGHT have bought a handful of tickets, but I have no delusions about the odds.I think I am safe in two assumptions, I won't ever win the lottery AND I won't ever get hit by an asteroid.

oh I most likely won't ever go to heaven either. lol
