Looks like adult entertainment will be plentiful for the group that preaches moral superiority during the RNC....

Just because I don't want to be taxed at 70% (a possibility before Reagan), doesn't mean I look down on escorts.  Sometimes you have to pick between the lesser of two evils.

If you were truly a fiscal conservative I would think that you would be rethinking the route Bush has put the USA on.
I still have to question how are we ever going to get out of the debt he has put us in (broken promises unfullfilled) without having to put into place record high taxes in the very near future, and for decades to come?

I don't like Bush's spending habits (and many conservatives agree with this discontent over Bush).  For example, the Medicare drug benefit was horribly irresponsible, when we can't even pay for the main program (it is projected to go bankrupt in 20 years, which will only be accelerated by the drug benefit).  The military spending and homeland security spending is a necessary evil in the time of war.
So my point wasn't a simplistic "Go Bush!", it was that many people have more complicated political views that pidgeon-holed conservative vs. liberal.  Please try not to make these things personal.

So borrow and squander is better than tax and spend?  I love you GOPers-!  The party of fiscal responsiblity is now the Dems!

Again, your perception is very clouded. I do not take these things personally.

As far as military spending goes, I do not think he does enough. Why do our troops have to use 1 side of body armor?

He has placed money where it should NOT be and left other areas underfunded.

You'd see that I don't approve of excessive spending.  I don't like Bush's spending habits, especially his domestic ones.  And you forget the main economic point.  THE TAX REVENUE THE FED GOVERNMENT GETS IS MAINLY DUE TO THE HEALTH OF THE ECONOMY.  DURING THE 1980'S REAGAN CUT TAXES AND REVENUE INCREASED.  IT ONLY DID THIS BECAUSE THE ECONOMY WAS EXPANDING.  THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO CLINTON.  THE ONLY REASON WE HAD A SURPLUS TOWARD THE END OF THE 1990'S WAS THE BOOMING ECONOMY.  Once the economy slowed down (which started before Bush took office, by the way), revenue decreased and the largely fictious surplus evaporated, BEFORE ANY OF BUSH's TAX CUTS COULD EVEN TAKE EFFECT. You shouldn't tax your way out of such debt, IMHO, but be more responsible in your spending.
This is why I originally made the distinction between fiscal conservatives and social ones: I was responding to a simple-minded bashing of Republicans as anti-escorts.  Don't you think many Democrats, at least in public, are against prostitution?  Don't you think some Republicans would favor its decriminalization?  When you pidgeon-hole entire groups you by necessity over-simplify and paint inaccurate portraits.

Reagan also raised taxes as did Clinton. The Dow did not start to go up significantly until the end of 1985, after Reagan raised taxes.  It the took off again at the beginning of 1995 - again after Clinton raised taxes.

(In the link, if you click on the arrow by "Time" and choose "custom", you can chart the Dow between any 2 dates from ~1970 to the present.)

Typical right-winger you disort the facts....Quote:"I was responding to a simple-minded bashing of Republicans as anti-escorts".....Say what you will, but face it, social conservatives preach against adult entertainment; be it porn, strip joints, & of course, escorting......

News flash for you, most social conservatives DO preach the high moral ground & MANY don't practice what they preach, (see Rush Limbaugh, Bill Bennett, Jon Matthews, etc.)

It may be simple minded, but it's also the simple TRUTH.....

I was stating a personal belief.  Do you question that I believe in not hassling the adult industry?  Do you presume to know the minds of others?  I gave no facts, only the TRUE COMMENT THAT PEOPLE SHOULDN'T BE PIDGEON-HOLED.  Do you not know that Gore's wife started the rating labels for music?  Do you not know that Clinton started the push for the V Chip?  Are these not censors to filter out adult content?
Again, you seem to resort to personal attacks ("typical right-winger you distort the facts") instead of responding to the argument.  Try to remain calm.  This is only a silly board on a site promoting escorting.  We are not in the Senate, and we have very little power to change things.
 Can you feel the love?

And I to was just stating an opinion in my original post, as I found it funny that the strip clubs & escort agencies were getting ready for the upcoming convention as those entities are expecting BIG business during that week.....

The irony of it all: Republican convention = boom in business for adult entertainment.....

As far as rating music, don't really have an issue with that if there is explcit language, etc. so as long as adults can purchase what they want...

BTW, were you aware that Bill O'Reilly called for a boycott of Pepsi products because Ludacris was a paid spokesperson...He also compared Ludacris to John Gotti....Look, I personally can't stand rap music, but I sure as hell don't want Bill O'Reilly screaming at me not to buy Pepsi because someone HE finds offensive endorses their product.........(He's called for boycotts of other products & endorsers as well)......He's no politican, but he sure is in a position of power, one that he abuses rather frequently........

Moose

Frankly, he seems to think anyone that does not share his opinion, is upset and on the verge of a stroke.

And maybe I've seen one to many stroke victims, lying in a pool of their own drool over a glowing computer.  It isn't a pretty site.
