What difference would it make if he stepped down?

I'm not sure which is the greater tragedy.

Priapus will be so exhausted from insulting Hirogen that he will not have the stamina to insult anyone else, and will soon retire to the buffet.

Hirogen lacks the broad palette of insults that Priapus possesses, and is already starting to recycle the same material. Once the ladies connect his real name to the Hirogen handle, he’s finished.

The only question is – which one should I cast in my remake of the great James Dean classic, which I will update and retitle:

              “Insulting Poster without a Cause.”

How about that, $2 bucks a head for 10 days! I nominate you to pass out the money in Tahrir Square wearing a Che Guevara tee-shirt. Give them a little taste of capitalist drivel and no God. How long before you get your ass kicked? I'm thinking the Sports Book at Caesars will establish the over/under ass kicking at 5 minutes.

pony tailed, grumpy old geezer lawyer?
You are a glutton for punishment, lol.

You are here for my amusement, not the other way around. So is everyone else that I choose to ensnare in my little circle.

You got the rebel part right, but purely by accident :)

His stepping down is just the beginning, but he continues to resist even that.

But there are people in Egypt who are willing to fight and even to die for human rights.

He will be replaced by another capitalist's lackey. Egyptians that get by on $2.00 a day dont care about who is in charge as long as they can still get by on $2.00. Things must be really bad when Egypt's capitalist class cant afford to allow people to have $2.00 a day. The US gives Egypt $1.6b a year in aid.
Go figure!

These rulers like Mubarek, Hussein...

these guys could cut a deal, leave with a shitload of cash and live the rest of their lives on a tropical beach with a bank accoutn full of cash, therefore all the women they want, big house, cars, the works!!

Instead they cling To their offices until they meet an early demise!! Just stupid!!!

I think it's a syndrome where, after decades of staying in power, they totally lose their grip on reality and think they can ride out any storm.

CNN said all his family's assets in Swiss banks, and those of  his cronies, have been frozen.  But I'm sure he's got it stashed all over the place.  The US ought to put a claim on some of it. I'm sure a lot of it came from our tax dollars.

I doubt the Saudis will have him.  They're too worried about their own necks and are already "hosting" the former dictator of Tunisia.  I bet Mubarak will end up back in Germany.  He was there for months earlier this year for health reasons.
