It's a very good quote, but I don't think that all Bush supporters would disagree with it.

Though nuclear devices didn't exist in the 18th century, the logic still apples.

The use of them on Hiroshima and Nagaskai was expedient but whether it was right is still not clear.

But I am sure you were thinking more of fear of Saddam's WMD instead.

I am AMAZED that anyone can question teh wisdom of using the bombs at the close of WWII. US casulaties were estimated to be arounf 250K in taking the Japanese mainland.

I find it interesting that when I talk to people from generations after WWII, they debate this, but when I talk to Americans of that generation, I get a solid consensus behind the decision.

NEWSFLASH, what some people view as becoming enlightened, others view as losing touch with reality!!!

BTW, yes Saddam's before we had to dick around with the UN while he shipped them to Syria
