I'm signing this petition not because I think it'll happen, but because the electoral college has to go and to piss off the Trumpanzee's and Trumpanettes on this board.

On December 19, the Electors of the Electoral College will cast their ballots. If they all vote the way their states voted, Donald Trump will win. However, they can vote for Hillary Clinton if they choose. Even in states where that is not allowed, their vote would still be counted, they would simply pay a small fine - which we can be sure Clinton supporters will be glad to pay!
Mr. Trump is unfit to serve. His scapegoating of so many Americans, and his impulsivity, bullying, lying, admitted history of sexual assault, and utter lack of experience make him a danger to the Republic.
Secretary Clinton WON THE POPULAR VOTE and should be President.

My candidate lost too, get over it already.

Hillary lost, had the Democratic Party not caved into hers and her minions pressure to allow her to "fix" the Democratic Party nomination, your party's nominee would have been POTUS, Sanders would have crushed Trump.

Hillary Clinton was simply the wrong person for POTUS, period. She couldn't execute the position of Secretary of State, she is a pathological liar and trust me she is not at all interested in your problems or your lot in life or your future, Hillary Clinton was interested only in how those things would benefit her. And I think it's also quite obvious that she was after the glory.

Listen, she was beaten by Donald Trump, c'mon Donald Trump beat her and did so convincingly. What does that say about what a clown she is?

My candidate lost too, have some grace in defeat, your idol Hillary did.

Allow me to "Barney-size" this for you.

The Electoral college is there so that smaller states all have a vote, otherwise New York, Florida, Texas and California would always determine POTUS and to some extent they already do with their large numbers of electorates. So smaller States like Wyoming, South Dakota, North Dakota, Iowa etc. have some input in the electoral process. There are more people in the State of California than most of the smaller States combined. That's the simple explanation, for your simple mind.

I'd like to know if you even voted? My guess is, no. The reason that your idol Hillary Clinton didn't win is that Democrats didn't vote, they couldn't be bothered to participate in the election process that their ancestors fought so hard to secure. If only half of the eligible people on Public Assistance (welfare for you laffy, I know these big words are difficult for you) voted Hillary Clinton would have won the election, and if all of them would have voted it would have been a land slide. But, they couldn't be bothered, they were too busy hitting their crack pipes to ensure their standard of living, if you'd like to call it that. Democrats have no one to blame but themselves, and of course Clinton.

Come on laffy, Hillary Clinton lost to Donald Trump, are you kidding me, she lost to Donald Trump. What kind of a clown do you have to be to lose to Donald Trump? Well, Hillary showed us.

The bottom line is that the election is OVER, you can choose to cry about it and perpetuate (continue) the divisiveness (actions which divide), or you can participate in unifying (bringing together) our wonderful country. Your choice. Hillary Clinton is going to retire a very wealthy woman, thanks to her constituents and contributors, and other than missing out on the glory which she seemed for many years, she's going to live a very comfortable life. She never had your best interest in mind, only her purse strings.

But the end result would have been he would have lost.

It's over, done, finished. I'm not all that happy that Tump won, other than the fact that I don't have to look at or listen to that lying, ugly bitch any more. In fact I hope he does get Impeached and extracted (kicked out) from office.

"Set the entire nation ablaze". That's nonsense.  You're just another petulant lib having trouble adjusting to your new reality.  Trump won and look who's rioting.  And look at the good it's doing them.  The best part is that Trumps is probably going to have the opportunity to put three judges on the Supreme Court.  That's gotta burn.  LOL

In designing Electoral College system Alexander Hamilton was explicit: this mechanism was designed to ensure that “the office of president will never fall to the lot of any man who is not in an eminent degree endowed with the requisite qualifications.”

You can't take only part of the Electoral College system that fits your goals but ignore the rest. If you play the system you play it to the full extent. If despite of the number of signatories the electors still decide not to change their votes, that is not your concern. Electoral College system should run its full course with the way it was originally intended. I'm signing

...hold true when majority of the electoral college would represent the minority of the votes cast.

Balancing out the regions of the country, and not the smaller and larger states as you russbbj say, was only one reason for introduction of Electoral College.

In setting up Electoral College system Alexander Hamilton was quite explicit: this mechanism was designed to ensure that “the office of president will never fall to the lot of any man who is not in an eminent degree endowed with the requisite qualifications.” In short, such fail-safe was designed to prevent just this situation: the rise of an unqualified demagogue like Donald Trump who tomorrow on 60 minutes will state in no uncertain terms that he said this and that during the campaign only so he could win.

You can't just be partially pregnant. If you believe in Electoral College then you should believe in it fully with all of its checks and balances otherwise it's hypocrisy and surely not a democracy but tyranny (in this case) of the minority. If despite the number of the petitioners the electors still decide not to change their votes, then the system worked. In any case Electoral College system should run its full course the way it was originally intended to function, i.e. until Congress certifies the election, and not only to the point that some of the voters want it to be, especially if those voters are in the minority.

...But now he said he won't "go rogue" and will indeed vote for Trump.  Clinton will never find enough electors to put her over 270.
