I’ve been curious about this because I know the Feds have been investigating him for a while now. I think it was like 8 months ago or maybe a year ago that they took his phone. I’m curious what all this is about. Whatever Adams did that’s illegal, I don’t know what it could be. Maybe something similar to Menendez where he took bribes on behalf of some muckity muck maybe?
Yes, I do think the DOJ was corrupt in going after Trump. It was obvious election interference. I do think the DOJ is launching some high profile cases in an attempt to cover their asses. The Diddy investigation wouldn’t have happened unless there was a lawsuit first. Menendez is so corrupt he previously barely avoided prison and then kept doing corrupt stuff like a bonehead. But notice you don’t see them going after Nancy Pelosi for insider trading. How many Democrats could be prosecuted right now for human trafficking? Soros could be put in prison under the RICO statutes.
From The NY Times (ChicKie, please note correct use of quotation marks):
"Mayor Eric Adams has been indicted on federal charges of bribery, fraud and soliciting illegal foreign campaign donations.
The indictment, which was unsealed on Thursday morning, follows an investigation that started in 2021 and has focused at least in part on whether he conspired with the Turkish government to receive illegal foreign campaign contributions and whether he took official actions on its behalf.
Federal prosecutors said that Mr. Adams 'sought and accepted improper valuable benefits' for at least a decade, when he was then the Brooklyn borough president, according to the indictment.
Early this morning, federal agents searched the official residence of Mr. Adams, hours before Damian Williams, the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, will discuss the a federal indictment against the New York City mayor.
They have focused since 2021 on whether Mr. Adams and his campaign conspired with the Turkish government to receive illegal foreign donations, and on whether Mr. Adams pressured fire department officials to sign off on the opening of a Manhattan high-rise consulate building for the Turkish government, despite safety concerns."
