Federal Taxes actually went down on January 1st.  I guess Il is trying to avoid CA's fate of bankruptcy.

If I'm the Gov, and/or Chamber of Commerce, of a neighboring state, I'd put my foot on the state of Illinois throat, and attract as much business and residents possible.

I'd give my right arm for a rate of 5%. What is California, 10% for the top rate? What I do find interesting is that Illinois' new rate is 5%, and it's not progressive. Last time I checked, IL is controlled by Democrats. Isn't a progressive tax rate one of the key tenets of liberals?
