I will also confess however that I am a lot more in support of burning korans "in principle" than I am "in practice" In this modern world of instant communications, I don't think I could live with myself if I were to watch a video of some poor person being decapitated in response to my having burned some stupid book, but knowing that my actions led to that persons death. Somehow telling myself that the terrorists murdered that person, not me would ring rather hollow.

I am still for it in theory, but the thought of causing the death of some innocent person thousands of miles away while I sit here safe in the US, just would be more guilt than I would want to live with.

You know why??? Because I know plenty of young men and women who would do the same thing if there were a video, going viral over the internet, showing some Muslims pissing on dead U.S. soldiers! And,  if soldiers from a sovereign country did the same thing, what do think our response would be. Such videos were used during WWII, portraying the Germans and Japanese doing similarly disdainful acts, to increase the fighting spirit of our soldiers, sailors and airmen. It worked then, why not now?

Immediately after returning from a Navy search and rescue mission, where all pilots and co-pilots were killed in an aviation crash, I was visited at home by two Navy JAG officers. How they originally presented themselves made me feel like I was some how a criminal just for being on the crash scene. They were just reading me the riot act to impress upon me the importance of keeping my mouth shut when in comes to military matters (Loose lips sinks ships). So, now you have these jokers letting the whole world see their escapades. I don't care what that politician from Florida says, and he knows, there is no excusing their recording and allowing to world to see what they did.
