The July 12 National Review has a fantastic artical on decriminalizing/legalizing marijuana. I urge everyone to read it(AND WHILE YOUR AT IT, READ THE WHOLE MAGAZINE).
In regards to our hobby, someone somewhere has to step up to the plate and intelligently lobby and get some kind of organization going that advocates legal commercial physical intimacy(I hate the word prostitution).
Legalization makes the commercial physical intimacy transaction safer and easier for both parties.
The Las Vegas City Council MIGHT be a place that is receptive if a good lobbyist (maybe a retired cop or judge) lobbied them. Also, Indian reservatiions might be good places that wouldn't have an immediate negative response.
The demand for providers is a huge untapped market. Transactions would easily go up exponentially as there are lots of horny sexually frustrated men out there who would go to providers if it were legal.
The potential number of providers is huge but they just will not risk illegal commercial providing with all the risks of crazy Johns and arrest and a criminal record that is part of an illegal economic activity.
Just think of all those beautiful young college girls studying to become nurses, accountants, elementary school teachers, anthropologists and librarians who WOULD become providers to pay their way thru college IF ONLY IT WAS LEGAL!!!! VAVAVAVOOOMMM!!!
A lot has to change in this country socially before we should legalize "providership" without making life miserable for providers. (Prostitution is a term of disgrace, so I don't like it either. But you're term Commercial Physical Intimacy is too hard to say, for one.)
There are too many moralistic prigs in politics and civil service. I don't want them, any of them, to have the power to regulate and tax providers. They will work the legalities and pass regulations to harass and destroy women in it. Don't give them that weapon. Until a generation has grown up tolerant of it, decriminalize, don't legalize it.
National Review has argued for the legalization of marijuana before. Unfortunate to say, conservatives have ignored those arguments as well.
