O.K.
To all my democrat friends out there let's be honest.
The DNC tanked this election so Hillary could run against nobody in 08.
How else can you explain the sudden tanking of Gephart and Dean right after Iowa a state where our candidates were decided in a glorified coffee clutch.
Gephart had the Unions, Dean had all the moderates, Kerry had basically nobody and he waltzes out of Iowa with the nomination all but sewed up? How did this happen?
It's easy, The DNC owes the Clinton's, It's no longer about good leadership, it's about owing people and giving Hillary an extra 4 years to groom herself for electability.
The DNC gives less of shit about America than the Republicans. Thats the impression they gave, and thats how the Republicans won.
The DNC let America forget that we were in a rescission, they didn't make the war a big enough issue, or the fact that the government was slowly taking our rights and the rights of our soldiers. They forgot about Bin Laudin, and didn't make a big deal about our national Guard not guarding our nation, but serving in Iraq. That despite all of the threats and code reds, our borders and shores go UN-watched. The DNC let America think that values were personal ones (faith, fidelity, etc.) and not human ones (life, liberty), and didn't even talk about the environment or bring it up.
So to the Democrats shut up. You think belonging to a political party means thats just the way you vote, you just go with the flow and let your party push you around and tell you what's good for you. It's your fault.

How?  There were primaries.

I will let others tell you if they though Dean was a moderate.  Unions don't represent a large portion of the voting population anymore and they have not been able to deliver votes for years

The current thinking is that Mr Bush won because most Americans are reluctent to vote out a president in time of work.  Do you know something different?

Don't you mean the RNC?

"The current thinking is that Mr Bush won because most Americans are reluctent to vote out a president in time of work"?

It warms my heart to see you admit that the counrty is once again at "work". The Bush recovery is in full swing !!

I have to agree with your point on voting out a president durring a time of war.
My point wasn't what the democrats did but what they didn't do and how they let the DNC loose the election and the democrats need to shut up until they decide that they are tired of being pushed around.

It's that I'm sick of democrats whining about loosing
and how they have let their partty feed them crap and they have willingly ate it.
Policy, Vice President all that is now decided long before the Convention. Speeches are scripted, limited, and approved (unless you have a pair Like Rev. Al Did).
Until the DNC is forced to change by its membership, I expect more of the same

... and you can certainly feel frustrated and angry.  I still expect that the Dems need to think about this a bit longer rather than simply react.

Harry How long do the Dems need to reflect? it's been 8 years.
8 years of whining. How long do they have to reflect?
If the Democrats wait much longer Carl Rove's vision of a one party nation will come to fruition

No, Victoria, you co-national ARE collectively less informed than soup.

Not conspiracy- stupidity.

Americans ARE the Baby Hueys you can't bring yourself to see.  The truth is painful and emabarrassing- but it is the truth.

But hey-  nothing wrong with Hilary.  After Bush, she will seem like Einstein.

First of all, todays politics are about "owing" people.  The key is to craft a platform that cohesively ties these debts together to win a majority.  The RNC took a risks and polarized the electorate:

- honor the religious right and hope some economic conservatives/socially moderates give them the free pass.

- stand firm on the war and hope that the Dems were too sacred to come out aggressively against it.

The DNC, rather than stake a strong position, fought at the margin on issues like the war (good idea, bad execution), gay marriage (bad thing, but maybe not illegal), health care, etc.  To many, this absence of a common vision was interpreted as being "wishy washy".  In retrospect, I sse it more as a struggle to find a true platform.
