It was not a clinical trial, excluded patients and was selectively observational.  Even the Ford Medical team said it didn’t prove the contrary studies wrong, it was simply helpful to try and understand how the virus worked.  The conclusion was that it may help in select patients if provided early enough.  But apparently that may merely be coincidental as other drugs and treatments were also present.  The study was widely criticized by other researchers.
