He at first refused to certify Biden's win there and was also a vaccine denier. From the Times:
"William Hartmann, one of two Republican election officials from Michigan who initially refused to certify the results of the 2020 presidential election in Wayne County, where Joe Biden had trounced Donald J. Trump, died on Nov. 30 at a hospital in Wyandotte, Mich., near Detroit. He was 63.

About two weeks before Mr. Hartmann’s death, which was confirmed by the Michigan Republican Party, his sister, Elizabeth Hartmann, wrote on Facebook that he was “in ICU with Covid pneumonia and currently on a ventilator.” Mr. Hartmann had been outspoken in his opposition to Covid vaccines.

He drew national attention after he and another Republican member of the Wayne County Board of Canvassers, Monica Palmer, refused to certify the election results. Mr. Biden had won the county, which includes the city of Detroit, with 68 percent of the vote, compared with 31 percent for Mr. Trump.

The two election officials pointed to minor recording discrepancies involving a few hundred votes, though the discrepancies had no effect on the outcome: Mr. Biden won the county by more than 330,000 votes. But their refusal to certify the results left the Wayne County board, made up of two Republicans and two Democrats, deadlocked. It also threatened to hold up the certification of Michigan’s entire vote."

Even if this guy wasn't one of them, how many people believed Trump when he called it a hoax and then died because they didnt get the shot? Thousands? Tens of thousands? More? As Trump would say, "Sad!"

the Left applied to Trump all through 2020, Trump has indirectly killed about 60% as many people as Biden has.  However, Biden's number can go higher and Trump's can't, so this percentage will go down in the future.  Trump stopped calling it a hoax by the end of February 2020 as cases showed up in the US, so you're not really making much of a point about him being responsible.

it got to the US, then he admitted it was the real deal when Americans started getting sick.  Have you never said anything in haste that you later found out was wrong, other than the ones you post here?

Did you forget that? And did you also forget that as he was telling us the few dozen cases in the U.S (at the time) would all go away in a few days, he was telling Bob Woodward that the disease was going to be very bad and deadly for the U.S.??? No CDL, it wasn't done in haste, it was done to deceive, over and over again, and that deception, and his down playing of Covid, led many of his followers to an untimely and early death.

They seem to be mostly of the unvaccinated now which swings toward republicans. But I've been wondering.....Is there a photo or PSA photo op that has trump getting the vaccination? Anywhere? He took his second dose in secret.
This is a topic where we've gone over this a million times...

so many  things he said were in response to what Fauci was telling him.  At that time, Fauci was telling everyone you don't need to wear a mask because it wouldn't do any good.  THIS was the advice Trump was getting.  Fauci was telling him in the beginning that it was being blown out of proportion, and that created the hoax comment.  You're being a Monday morning quarterback.  Trump did pretty well with his initial reaction, like stopping planes coming from China and Europe, for which he got a load of shit from Biden, Pelosi, Schumer, Cuomo and other Dems who called him racist, xenophobe and other similar names.  It turns out that a million lives were probably saved as a result of his early action to isolate the US from the sources of the virus.

Could Trump do more?

Jen Psaki Mocks Peter Doocy Question on Biden Asking Trump to Do a Vaccine PSA: He Shouldn’t Need an ‘Embroidered Invitation’
.
"... “You guys are having a hard time getting a certain part of the population to go get the shot,” Doocy said. “Would President Biden ever call former President [Donald] Trump and say ‘I need your help, let’s cut a PSA and tell people to go do it?'” ..."
.
" “We have seen almost every former president play a role in putting out a PSA, making sure people understood in the country that the vaccine is safe and effective,” Psaki said. “We don’t believe that requires an embroidered invitation to be a part of, but certainly, any role of anyone who has a platform where they can provide information to the public that the vaccine is safe, it is effective, we don’t see this as a political issue. We’d certainly welcome that engagement.” ..."
.
I guess that SOME people DO think they need an embroidered invitation (and maybe some sort of financial remuneration) to make such a PSA.  To paraphrase Trump, "What's in it for me?"

Remember Bob Woodward? He has Trump on tape in Feb. 2020 -- before things got bad here -- saying Covid was deadly, worse than the flu and transmitted through the air. So he knew it all but pooh-poohed it publicly. And people died.
