The article was written by the TXGR staff. TXGR is actively involved in gun rights activism. They want the ATF eliminated. Etc.. I.e., the article is slanted by and towards pro-gun activists.

The article is short on specifics. The broad claim is "the Biden-Harris administration weaponized federal agencies to target lawful gun owners, using the pretext of combating “domestic terrorism” to justify increased surveillance and regulation of Second Amendment supporters." There are no specifics: WHO was under surveillance? HOW MANY people were under surveillance? Some forms of surveillance require court approval.

If some people were under surveillance, was there specific evidence that triggered that action? (E.g., social media posts threatening violence, etc.)?

The (alleged - I haven't seen the original documents) "domestic terrorism" categorization of gun owners might have been a nothing-burger, like a new categorization of buggy whip owners as being animal abusers.

To repeat: WHO? How many? Court approved? Light handed (double checking the paperwork filed on recent gun purchases) or heavy handed (wiretaps, bugging devices, undercover agents at work and home, ...)?

A few thoughts. I am very pro-gun, but having been on many gun rights groups mailing lists, I can tell you the use of fear mongering to collect revenues from gun owners is very blatant and quite over the top. Every gun rights group is guilty of it. Fear mongering is very commonplace in right wing and left wing politics. It amounts to outright lies in order to motivate passive people to become activists. It’s highly unethical, but it works.  

 
If you read the document linked in the article you’ll find a declassified document from the Biden era (2021) of the administration’s goals on fighting domestic terrorism. Such documents are painfully boring to read, but since I usually have to read documents like this on a daily basis, you learn how to go through them quickly.  

 
A lot of it is boiler plate stuff, this agency take the lead on that initiative. There’s some woketard activism stuff in there too, but nothing surprising. There’s concerns about the nexus of foreign terrorism working with domestic terrorism. And then there’s stuff where they worry about symbols and phrases that they think is linked to domestic terrorism, which could be anything like Pepe the Frog memes.  

 
There’s no much mention of guns until you get to the last couple pages where they’re worried about “ghost guns” and the “safe storage of guns”, both issues which is used to chip away at 2nd Amendment rights. I guarantee you a private gun owner knows far more about safely keeping a firearm than your average government bureaucrat.  

 
I also know that government rarely put down on paper the most insidious things they do. Those orders are communicated verbally instead. An initiative about “bolstering social cohesion” and “fostering the public’s trust in government and democracy” doesn’t sound dangerous, but the policy implementation of this could be anything from spying on government dissidents, using online censorship, to God knows what else. What we do know is that the Biden administration targeted parents as domestic terrorists simply for not wanting their kids subjected to gay porn. So take from that what you will.

And he even seems to agree with imp. Perhaps there is hope.
