I might be wrong. I think the five countries that abstained, add up to well over 50% of the world population. It's quite a difficult task, to find a large majority in agreement , on any volatile issue.
I surely hope the French and British fighter pilots,aim with excellence Friday morning. It would be great if the French and British pilots perform so well, the U.S won't feel compelled to become involved, other than our vote, and logistics. I agree, the bunker buster in Gadhafi's lap would be an appropriate ending! The only thing I liked about Gadhafi, was his dislike for alQaeda.
Even better, what the U.N. approved was "all necessary measures" to protect the Libyan people, not just a no-fly zone. So we are authorized to hit Ghaddafi's tanks and troops as well. I hope we soon see cruise missiles and smart bombs taking out his airfields, tanks, etc. I am greatful we have a military that can take this task on and do it right, while at the same time fighting the Taliban and helping the Japanese. They really can do it all. Not easily and not cheaply, but they will do the job for us and I, for one, am grateful.
