I think she has done an admirable job of bringing attention to climate which I believe is a very underrated issue. I have to admit I do find her attractive too. hehe
I'm pretty sure she isn't an expert in the field of climate study. In fact most people (including the vast majority of scientists) aren't experts in climate study. Their opinions on the subject are essentially worthless, as all they can do is echo (without being able to personally verify) the claims of others.
If AOC was an anti-vaxxer it would be easy to say she's talking out of her ass. We (well most of us) accept vaccination so if she was pro-vaccination we might not challenge her, but she would still be talking out of her ass on the subject.
There are actual climate scientists who disagree with the popular climate models. And even the models themselves have wide ranges of uncertainty. We could be staving off the next ice age, which would be far worse than the predicted warming trend as far as agricultural collapse and massive starvation.
AOC's advice could be 180 degree wrong. I don't know because I am not a climate scientist either. But I am willing to compromise ... start building nuke plants. Even the founder of Greenpeace came around to that conclusion.
I gave her credit for bringing it to attention of many Americans. But 97% of the people who are experts, tell us the science is clear and that man is contributing greatly to a warming world. I am with your on nuclear energy however. It is greenhouse gas free and thus is one weapon in the fight against the devastating problem that is climate change.
The issue isn't climate change per say. Its rapid climate change. The accelerated pace of the change of climate.
Scientists and media blew it when they first labeled it Global Warming and "Greenhouse Effect". Oversimplified, and now there is "doubt".
