But it was all he could get and, for him, it was a stake in the ground to make sure the US had some form national health care. Now, with 20 million people covered, it will become impossible to take it away from them. So, especially if Clinton is elected, there's a good chance we'll get a more workable version of national health care. We'll see.

wouldn't be a novel concept for that democracy to work in such a way, that a bipartisan healthcare system was created that would favor those who needed healthcare almost as much as those who stand to gain from providing that healthcare?
While by far the absolute best nation in the world, why is it so difficult for our lawmakers (all of our lawmakers) to come together and put the best interests of the American people first?
This is why we have Obamacare. If politicians could find a way to do their jobs and not court favor from healthcare/health insurance special interest groups, we would not even be talking about Obamacare, period!
