Why this OP ? In the 19 months since my much anticpated & lauded arrival here ( )I gotta say that the board discourse lately is the roughest I've seen so far. Perhaps others with more time in here will say that it's always been that way in here. Feedback on this would be welcome.

So----why the "fireworks in here lately"? A sign of the ever present polarization, economic anxieties in a shitty economy, coarseining of the culture, or, being that it's a anon. political discussion board, it's merely "the nature of the beast " ?

I'm sure some will say I played a hand in the increasingly rough banter ( I can think of one
"old maid" in particular )to those wags, I say in the words of the immortal MP67, GFY----

Keep in mind the above is an observation, NOT a judgment. I enjoy the "roughhousing" & would pack my bags in a second if this "leper colony" were moderated. Others, of course, probably bemoan the loss of civility here which some may see as a valid observation.

Thoughts on all of this ?

I would say that the board is reasonably even where is comes to left and right views, but is comprised of "whores" and "whore fuckers" and not many other voices, so to call it a microcosm of society is a bit narrow. We also have little racial diversity here, and very few actual poor people.

As for the "recent fireworks" here, you seem to be a common theme where it comes to "fireworks" Hey, you asked. lol but if you think the board is contentious now, you should have been around here back when Bendover was mod,  and Jacko was the leading troll around here, you think that nogood is a "Jew basher" You aint see nothin yet. lol

I don't know who lurks on this board but the participants are a very small sample of mainly white urban men.  I think it will continue to get rougher as election season heats up but we will also get meaner because we will get sick of each other.
